Since its earliest days,
ambition and innovation
have nurtured the cultural
heartbeat in East Liberty.

Industry's biggest names
—Carnegie, Heinz, Mellon—
moved into our valley along
the Allegheny River,
looking for a break from
the overcrowded city.

After settling in, these men
invested in the borough's
automobile, theater,
entertainment & nightlife scenes.

However, during this time
Prohibition Laws demanded
that the show go "underground,"
leading to innovative
secret drinking clubs
coined as speakeasy's.

Today, our neighborhood
is redefining itself infused
with dance, music
and neighborhood entertainment,
boutiques, unique dining and
re-emerging historic buildings.
Mix and mingle at Wallace’s Whiskey Room + Kitchen, an American tavern with a nod to the prohibition era. Offering an array of seasonally inspired + locally sourced food: breakfast, lunch, happy hour, dinner, weekend brunch. ~ Sergio Rivera; Executive Chef

l The space itself is nice. Our food took longer than we would have liked, and most of it was only ok. The fish tacos tasted like fish that was boiled in a dishwasher and coated with mayonnaise. They...
