For nearly a century, Jack’s has been an integral part of Albany’s landscape. Long considered the hot spot for politicians and the famous, Jack’s ambiance is reminiscent of the clubby New York style restaurants so in vogue today.

Opened in 1913 by Jack Rosenstein, the restaurant has been continuously operated by the same family and is now under the direction of grandson, Brad. Joined by Brad is Executive Chef Larry Schepici. Together, they work to create the ultimate dining experience for you each and every time you visit. In their dedication to the tradition of Jack’s, they have developed a menu to satisfy their faithful clientele as well as delight a new generation of Jack’s customers. Chef Schepici's exciting and unique cooking style, along with our staffs' warmth and hospitality, will make for many memorable dining moments.

Very Good - 4 out of 5

In my opinion, downtown Albany's best restaurant.

Liked: Very creative Manhattan Clam Chowder; nicely prepared chop salad; and very good entree (Scrod). I highly recommend Jack's Centennial red wine - a very smooth and delicious Cab.
Disliked: No complaints.

Pleasant - 3 out of 5

We have been to Jack's quite a few times and ALWAYS walked away very satisfied and happy. This time not so much - we ordered medium rare steak Diane that arrived well done and burnt like it had sat under warming lights for a long time. The good news - they remade it, however, again it was under the heating lamp 5 minutes too long, but at least it was not burnt.

Liked: The exotic oysters were fabulous!
Disliked: First plate served burnt.
