Esther & Carol is a multi-concept eatery owned by Kevin King and Cordell Lochin, who has spent a decade-plus years working in the downtime nightlife and restaurant scene, in such places like Balthazar, Narcissa, La Esquina and The Box. The 80-seat space is split three ways: an Art Deco–inspired American bistro (Esther & Carol), a takeout burger window (E&C Burger) and a music-focused basement lounge (E&C Studio). The food focuses on American comfort classics with a twist in health. The bistro serves dishes like Gluten-Free Buttermilk Fried Chicken prepared with bourbon watermelon salad and mac & cheese, Grilled Pork Chop with wheat berry stuffed plums and Chicken Noodle Soup with spring onions, while the burger window purveys grass-fed patties and dairy-free milk shakes. The downstairs lounge is inspired by a 1970’s music studio, with a 100 guests full service bar, walls covered in iconic images of music legends and Gibson instruments that can be used by musicians.
