Wyndham Grand Fallsview Hotel

The staff was very friendly. Britanny was especially hospitable by offering us an upgraded room (since they weren't overly busy) and a bottle of wine to celebrate my husband's birthday. What a special added touch!

Liked: The room was great - heart shaped jacuzzi!
Disliked: Clarity on the original price for the room. I saw it advertized as $67 plus tax and thought the final total was $76. It was actually $76 plus tax which was a surprise. But they had given us an upgrade when we arrived so it certainly was worth $94. total.

The room was very comfortable with a couch and chair. Amenities were good. An enjoyable stay.

Do not book a room...

Disliked: Do not book a room at this hotel. It is being used to house homeless people. My reservation was confirmed prior to arrival, but when I arrived to check in, I was asked if I received the message that our reservation was moved to a sister hotel. I did not receive any message because there was no message. She quickly asked if I wanted to speak to a manager, and both managers who came out were extremely rude, unapologetic, and did not explain anything other than to continually repeat that it was my fault because I used the third-party booking and that they left a message for me. It was very clear to me that they were lying, which was infuriating. I was extremely annoyed with the whole situation because we had driven six hours already and had a tour booking in 40 minutes. After some time, when my husband finally came in to see what the holdup was, they offered a free parking voucher and breakfast was included at the other hotel. We ended up at the Embassy, which was much nicer and the people working there were very professional and pleasant. Booking.com should not be advertising or making reservations at this place. I also heard from a local that they have bedbug and roach problems and have been throwing out mattresses. The hotel owner is making a lot of money taking in the Manitobans at a premium government price and bouncing all other reservations to sister hotels upon check-in. Read all of the other one star reviews if you are still looking at this hotel.

Disliked: Some of the staff were unfriendly. They were very pushy about upgrading and upset if you didn't. We also were moved from the Wyndham, and our room was not comparable to what we originally booked.

Exceptional

Liked: We actually did not stay at the Wyndham Grand Our reservation got switched to Embassy Suites because of the Canadian Wildfires the Canadian Government required the Wyndham Grand to serve as a refuge hotel for wildfires refugees. The hotel we were switched to was very good and we were not disappointed.
