Good location for us and...

Liked: Good location for our needs and good parking, so would stay again. Room was small, but functional. Overall was nice enough small hotel.
Disliked: They didn’t do any cleaning in room whilst we were there and had to ask for clean towels at reception. Seemed low on staff generally.

Room blunders and bad service

Liked: The property was catering for an event I was attending and the food was very good.
Disliked: This is probably more booking.com’s fault but I had specifically ordered a family room with two beds and upon arrival was given a plain double and I had not planned to share a bed with a colleague! Nothing could be done and there wasn’t even an apology.

Harry Potter visit

Liked: Size of room. Access to other local facilities
Disliked: Second single bed was a fold up which collapsed when my son rolled over in it

Liked: Looks nice. Wendy was very friendly.
Disliked: This hotel was not as expected, it was unexplainably warm, uncomfortable and very unhygienic. To start our horror experience out, we only had 2 beds in the room when we had booked to have a 3 bedroom room, to solve this issue they gave us a sun bed and threw a mattress on it! This was very uncomfortable and the mattress kept tipping over. The man at reception was rather annoying, making stupid jokes and asking us “what are we doing here?” this made us feel quite out of place instead of welcomed to the hotel. The room had 0 air conditioning and was boiling, to solve this issue they gave us a little desk fan which barley circulated the room, resulting in one of the most uncomfortable sleeps in my life. I will avoid this in this hotel in the future.Big up Wendy the cleaner though, she made some cracking jokes and was very friendly - clearly made an effort with her job and is a huge highlight to the hotel, due a pay rise I’d say.
