Free and safe parking; cute room with a stove and dishes. Awesome snack store. Friendly staff! Great central location to several walkable places. Lyft was there for a show in one minute. I would definitely stay again.
Disliked: We had to wait about 20 minutes for our room to be cleaned since they had been busy. We walked around Dinkytown so not too bad.

The staff was great. The location was great for the event my friend and I were attending. The room was clean and very comfortable. Bed was very comfortable.
Liked: The staff were excellent in helping us check in quickly and there was an instance when we could not find a parking spot and the staff was very helpful in finding us a place to park.
Disliked: There wasn't enough parking.

We reserved a room here to attend a concert at the Varsity Theater. We weren't expecting too much considering the price compared to other accommodation downtown. We were pleasantly surprised. There weren't any "frills" to speak of besides a small selection of food like Chef Boyardee and Snickers, beauty items in case you forgot anything (that never happens...), and a soda machine. Also, this was one of the only places downtown that had free parking. In my opinion, the "amenities" at other places don't in any way justify the price increase. I can buy my own mediocre breakfast. The staff was friendly and the check in only took a few minutes. The clerk even loaned us a phone charger in exchange for some fried rice from the chinese delivery place down the street. Thanks again for that! I think she felt sorry for us, we forgot our charger in the car. After we drove into the cities from 4 hours away, we decided to stop first at the Mall of America... we were hungry and she wanted to shop so where else would you go? We pulled into the mall parking garage and shut off the car, it didn't restart again until the next day after spending the entire morning switching out the alternator. Thanks to Mall of America for the overnight parking and for letting us work on the car in your lot. We had to take a taxi to the Inn. Back to the review! We were given good directions to our room and off we went. I actually said "wow, cool" when we walked into the room. You walk into the small kitchen with everything you'd need to prepare and eat a meal except the food, even an apartment sized refrigerator. The room was modern, very nice looking, very clean and there was plenty of seating including a dinner table with 4 chairs. The only negative I would list would be the firm mattress but that's just a matter of personal taste so it doesn't affect the rating I give the Inn. There was a copy of the checkout info and bill under the door the next morning - it couldn't have been more convenient and smooth, which we definitely needed. The Inn is within a short walk of all the downtown nightlife fun, perfect distance to get some air while stumbling back to your room. We had an amazing time even with the car issues and it had a lot to do with The University Inn and it's staff. Thanks to you for helping make it a memorable trip, we'll be back.

Liked: Amazingly affordable especially for how close it was to the Varsity Theater. Loved the complimentary crazy coffee maker in the lobby, and the snacks and Mac and cheeses for cheap. Bridget was friendly and helpful at the desk. It's right off the highway and on a busy street, but quiet and cozy.

I love a clean, comfortable, no frills, just what you need, kind of place and the University Inn fits this perfectly. Though the parking lot was small, we always had a space. The staff and other clients were all very friendly and it was close to the Cedar Cultural Center, among other venues.
Liked: Clean, comfortable and friendly.
Disliked: A bit pricey for a no frills inn.

We saw a concert at the Varsity Theater and were able to walk to our nice, clean hotel room after the show. Very convenient; clean and comfortable, even for just a good night's sleep.
