First time we stayed here. Lovely hotel. We stayed in room 5 which was one of the larger rooms. It had a bath and shower. Booked in online, so we were given the keys on arrival and was shown up to our room. After returning from our visit to Chatsworth House, which was only 5 minutes away, we booked a meal for 6:30pm. The food was delicious and the staff very helpful and polite. Breakfast was extra as we did not book that online, but there were 3 - 4 different prices to choose from.

Liked: Area; room; food and staff were all excellent.
Disliked: The weather.

Excellent.

Liked: Incredibly good value. Surprised to find such a clean, comfortable, well-decorated room for the money (we booked last minute). Recently completely refurbished. Tea, coffee, biscuits- nice big mugs. Our only regret was that we didn’t eat there, as we’d originally intended. It was very busy indeed on that Sunday afternoon (we should have taken this as a sign) and we fancied a quiet drink, so crossed over to The Devonshire Arms and enjoyed one in a pleasant area. We then made the mistake of eating there, too, and had a really dreadful meal (they couldn’t even manage a good fish and chips). So, there is a reason for the crowds at The Wheatsheaf! We will, for sure, eat with you next time! Big car-park. Easy walk directly from there to Chatsworth. Manageress very welcoming.

Overnight in Baslow

Liked: I like having 3 options so you pay for what you eat. I have a small appetite so just had poached egg on toast, whereas my husband had the full English.
Disliked: I feel the cold and use an electric under blanket at home….i missed it!

Good stay but would choose...

Liked: Breakfast was good value and the staff were really helpful. The bed was very comfy and bathroom well equipped.
Disliked: Very noisy room (no.2) both from the road and the staff socialising below the room after closing. Not their fault but you can hear conversation below the room which was happening until midnight. No glasses in room for water. Could have done with a mini fridge.

Overall is good

Liked: The room is clean and the food is good. It’s very close to Chatsworth house which is walkable.
Disliked: The acoustic partition is not that good, we sometimes can hear other room’s voice and they can also hear us even when we tried to talk in low voice.
