Very nice well used pub...

Liked: We have stayed here before and will always favour the Wellington over the nearby Premier Inn. Didn't have breakfast this time, but have had it before and it is freshly cooked and very tasty. The only downside on this visit was that we were put in a disabled room so trying to have a shave using a very low mirror in the bathroom was difficult, my wife had the same trouble using the dressing table mirror for her make up. As it was only for one night, it wasn't worth the hassle of moving rooms.
Disliked: Having a normal room instead of the disabled room (see comments above) The mattress on the bed could do with replacing, but as we were out drinking, it didn't affect us much !

2 star room for 5...

Liked: The bed was comfy and the bed linen was clean. The towels were also clean.
Disliked: The room was dirty scruffy with paint flaking off the walls. The towel rail was half full of air which caused gurgle noises all the time. Toilet seat broken and loose. Slug trails on the carpet and so much dirt and dust on the 'fixed to wall hair dryer' gave the impression this room had not been properly cleaned. The door was so poorly fitting that it caused a constant draught. This was a 2 star accommodation with a 5 star price!

Basic but comfortable.

Liked: Good size room, well planned with sockets near mirror. I?ve stayed here before but not in room 2.
Disliked: Not a fixed shower so difficult to wash hair. Strange that the bathroom had disabled equipment...but with a bath. The bedside light didn?t work. Somebody banging on my door about 1am. Avoid room 2

Not so pleasing

Liked: The location as it was very close to where we were visiting. The bedding was clean. The bar staff were pleasant and helpful.
Disliked: The room decoration - the room looked like it ha been dusted or cleaned for an age - I had to wash my hands after turning on the bed side light - the ?white? bath towels were grey around the edges - the price was far to high for this, as described on their website as ?a simple room? The food wasn?t particularly good , although I?ve had worse. I don?t think I would stay there again.

Not bad, pity about the...

Liked: This was a very convenient location for our visit. The two twin rooms were clean, simply furnished but everything we needed. Although they couldn?t serve us breakfast they were happy to give us crockery and cutlery to eat our own food in our rooms
Disliked: From 11pm to just after midnight the noise from people leaving the pub was quite disturbing. We had a meal in the pub which wasn?t great, although the service was excellent and we got an immediate reduction from the bill

Disappointing - 2 out of 5

Disliked: Room was very tired and dated. Also quite noisy as close to the main road.

Would never stay at the...

Liked: The location was exelent for our requirements.
Disliked: The cold and damp rooms had gaps under and down the side of the external door, the bedroom as a result was cold and damp, the matrass was old saggy and extremely uncomfortable, the room was very dark and dismal most of the lamps did no longer work, the kettle was dirty and unusable, the bathroom was so cold the supposedly dry towels were constantly damp, the toilet seat was hanging off,the bathroom lamps were unusable and didn't work, didn't have a room cleaner for all the time we were there,we had to go into the pub to get toilet rolls from the bar staff, the advertised breakfast does not exsist due to the lack of a cook,in fact most of the menue was not available,we therefore had to walk to the premier inn for food, had we been able to find alternative accommodation we would have walked out with or without a refund.
