Love the Waldorf. My only complaint is the costly in-room wireless. Meals are expensive, but I expected this. Rooms are spacious and staff is wonderful. The highlight is the Sunday brunch. My favourite New York hotel!
Liked: Beautiful rooms; excellent staff; spotless,
Disliked: Expensive wireless.

Disliked: Very bad experience, staff not friendly and certainly not helpful. Wifi didn't work in the room, rang reception but zero help.Check out is 12 but our room was stripped at 11am as we got back from morning coffee, all our towels etc all gone and bed stripped. Very very disappointed.

Disliked: Bathroom heater almost set started a fire. Temp. control system worked poorly. Elevators were slow and often crowded. Door man at main entrance on our arrival refused to let us disembark with our luggage and waved our taxi driver around the corner to the Waldorf Tower entrance where we had to handle our own luggage and take a long, indirect route to our room which was in the main Hotel.

Liked: The location and iconic nature of the hotel lent to the magic the fact that it was closing for three years for renovations made it all the more special that we got to stay there at the end of an era
Disliked: You could feel the impact of the close on the hotel staff and although they were all lovely it definitely influenced things

Liked: The Waldorf Astoria isn't a hotel, it's an experience. We stayed during their last week before they closed. Everything was as it should be. We had a 1 bedroom suite and it was so peaceful. You would never have known that you were in the City that never sleeps! Location was excellent, few minutes walk to Grand Central and 51st Subway. Food was first class, staff were helpful and polite and the hotel itself is exactly what you would expect. Luxury! You can sense the history walking through it. Really enjoyed our stay.

Liked: The lobby and common areas are architectonic jewels. A place to visit.
Disliked: This building requires a huge renovation, especially the bedrooms. We have been told that mayor works will be soon taken place. I hope they will return this hotel at the place it should be. The bedroom was too noisy and almost not light. Installations are in very bad conditions. A huge deception.
