Great location but I would...
Liked: The room was clean and very roomy. Karen, the staff, was very accommodating. Excellent location.
Disliked: There was no one to check us in... just a key with a note telling us how to get in. It was not on letterhead and there was no local phone number in case of a problem or emergency. The only staff came in the morning to make breakfast and clean the room. It was a bit creepy as no one else was staying there... a bit like The Shining...

Liked: Innkeeper was a gem and the location is great.
Disliked: It's a bit dated, but price and location make up for it.

The hostess was lovely, the...
Liked: We did not eat at the Inn. The mattresses need updating but they were acceptable. The bathroom needs some updating as well. The bathroom temperature was chilly, but the shower pressure and temp were good.
Disliked: There was a water drip from above, not sure if this was from room above or an exterior problem as it rained for several days. Blow drier was antiquated and did not work.

Disliked: Old carpet in room. Faucet dripped all night, wallpaper peeling, did not accommodate my special diet needs request for breakfast

Liked: The staff was very friendly.
Disliked: I have a feeling in its day this was a lovely guest house, but that time has long since passed. The building, both interior and exterior, is very dated and in some cases worn and in need of repair. If I were to guess the last time the Village Inn was updated it would have to be somewhere around 1980 (although there was an antique - circa - 1960 hair dryer in the bathroom, so it could have been earlier). I would not stay here again. I would not recommend that anyone stay here. I don't think most people would find it a pleasant, pleasing, vacation-like environment, but rather experience (as we did) the uneasy sensation of having been lost somewhere in time.

It was fine, just in...
Liked: Staff was very nice. Room was a good size. It was quiet.
Disliked: Decor was dated. Some decor was worn. Full length mirror in bathroom wasn't fully attached and made a loud noise every time door was opened and closed. Would be an easy fix. The sign out front was missing so it was hard to find the property and it's parking. Water wasn't very hot for the shower.
