Away from the property was...
Liked: Convenient to shops, dining, bar
Disliked: 1. Website said they have a tavern on premise....there is no tavern 2. Website said they have a fireplace in the room (which we paid more for)...we could not use the fireplace. Owner states ?per fire department? (highly doubtful. Don?t advertise it if guest can?t use it) 3. No TV service according to the sign on the TV that read due to ?meteorological circumstances?...there was some rain but overall, weather was fine 4. Paid a premium ($260) for one night in a room that was very very old in decor, furniture, rug, bathroom was in worse shape. We wanted ?charm? but the room/bathroom was stuck in a time warp with not a single update done to improve the overall customer experience you would expect from a BB and at $260 per night 4. Breakfast was poor. For a B&B we would have expected something made to order and fresh

Liked: The Manager was fantastic. He took care of everything for us and gave us such great information about things to do and restaurants in the area.
The very nice young lady who worked in the breakfast area made us a great breakfast. She was very nice.
The Inn is in need of an update but it was in a fantastic location. The room was very clean.

Friendly well meaning staff but...
Liked: Surprisingly run down. Bed was hard and only one pillow per person. TV did not work.

Don't book this Inn
Liked: Proximity to town
Disliked: Please don't book this Inn. The write up said "The rooms at Village Inn have an elegant décor with light colors and wooden furnishings. Some rooms have a fireplace and every room has a TV." None of that was true. Room was dark and dingy. Layout was awkward. I had to bring a table lamp into the bathroom to see well. The air conditioner had been removed. The cable service for the TV had been cancelled. One key worked both the front door and the room.

Loved the location
Liked: great location, nice staff
Disliked: Very cramped bedroom...Large canopy bed took up most of the room with very little room to even walk around the bed. That type of bed should not be in that small of a room! Plus there was a TV armoire that was much too big for the space. A queen bed with headboard only and a small table for the TV would make that same room seem much more spacious. Also the mattress was not comfortable...a foam topper and pillows that are not flat and a fluffy comforter with that same mattress would make all the difference for guests' comfort. Cable for the entire facility was not working, which seems strange. We weren't there to watch TV, but would have liked to have turned on the playoff baseball game once we were in for the night, or listen to some news in the am. This may be a one time issue with the cable, but if not it should be fixed asap...worth it for guests satisfaction.

Great Location - but small...
Liked: The location was great - we walked everywhere.
The people were very nice. And off-street parking was a plus.
The breakfast was also good, but not in the traditional Bed and Breakfast way. It was similar to hotel breakfast.
Disliked: The room was very small. It feels like staying with your elderly aunts. The bathroom was very modest. The place was clean enough in a way that was like a lived in old house. The TV was not working. It is best not to linger in the room for long.
