Disappointing not as described by...

Liked: Comfortable bed, location good.
Disliked: Not informed by Booking.com that property had recently changed hands and was under renovation. Not informed that parking was available at property and had to pay for parking elsewhere. No breakfast available at accommodation as promised on booking.com. Faulty shower valve unable to regulate water with danger of scalding.

Booking.com let us down, badly.

Liked: Nothing except that the manager tried to find a room that could be slept in.
Disliked: It was closed for renovation. The manager told us that he had informed Booking.com of the work but you did not tell us. We had to find alternative accommodation immediately and could only find a hotel 43 miles away after a frantic hour on the phone. This made our weekend very difficult and it was entirely the fault of your company.

Great expectations - nightmare outcome

Liked: Friendly staff Great location Parking
Disliked: Dated bedroom. Broken/loose shower head. Room didn’t feel like it had been polished or cleaned properly in a while. Bed sheets clean and crisp, however later that evening, on my arrival day, I spotted I was not alone in the bed! Bed bugs that came over the sheets and pillows like something from Braveheart!! Thankfully I had not fallen asleep nor unpacked properly. There were no staff to assist so I packed up and left immediately and managed to find a nearby hotel. This was at 1am. So a traumatic time all round! I messaged the hotel on here and received a very apologetic reply the next morning and a full refund. Thankfully I was not around long enough to be bitten by any bed bugs. I’ve stayed here in the past with no issues. However I will not be staying again. It’s a shame as it’s a lovely pub, good atmosphere and in a fab location. Just needs a complete refurbishment and updating.

Terrible hotel - save yourself...

Liked: Bedroom was newly furnished - bathroom was the opposite
Disliked: Myself and partner stayed for two nights here in June. It is was beyond a joke, the first morning there were no staff anywhere in the building to serve us breakfast (which was included in our booking) and on both nights there was no hot running water. (Bare this in mind because they were serving breakfast the next day - not sure how the staff were washing there hands)👎. On top of that, the shower in our room was literally duct tapped to the wall, the kettle was disgusting inside (amongst many other things). On the final day when we went to check out the member of staff on site happened to be in the middle of a domestic argument which involved a lot of shouting/swearing etc by clearly a disgruntled parter. I have been seeking a refund for over a month now despite being told at checkout that a full refund would be sent back (via booking.com). I have rang the hotel 20+ times, emailed, asked booking.com for help (they cant do anything as they are channel partners) and ive even asked the pub owners (Shepherd Neame) but they also cannot get in touch with the person who leases the hotel. SAVE YOURSELF AND GO TO PREMIER INN

Liked: Restaurant was closed. for lunch and supper.the breakfast was very good and made to order.Ran out of certain beer.s on thurs and never restocked for the weekend.in general staff were very good. unfortunately, the hotel was being sold, and as such, the outgoing owner has let things slip badly.not at all the staffs fault.good location wrt town centre.
