It was a great home...

Liked: Location is great. Made for easy, lovely walks along the shoreline. Rooms were large and comfortable. Beds were great.
Disliked: The property was run down and in need of updating. I understand they are in the process of renovating, but the rooms were pretty dated and several things didn't function well. The shower took 2 minutes to heat up, the toilet kept running for several minutes after flushing, the floor tiles were noticeably stained/chipped. The hot tub by the pool was broken for half our stay and kids couldn't use the "adult only" hot tub.

Exceptional

Liked: The location and the facilities were very nice, comfortable and well maintained.
Disliked: The prices for anything on Kauai ARE WAY TOO HIGH. I think I will find other vacation locations that are more affordable and just as enjoyable.

Great visit on a beautiful...

Liked: Great property, really enjoyed the location and the visit overall. Beautiful setting, easily access many other attractions on Hawaii. Concierge desk (I talked to two people) was oustanding. They really knew their stuff and gave great recommendations for what to do on the island. The pool was great, too, and had a pretty good happy hour at the pool bar! The water filtration stand was a nice bonus.
Disliked: I know they’re in the process of redoing some of the buildings, but ours just felt a little old. We were also there for five nights and never had anyone come in to take out the trash or give us fresh towels. Not a huge deal, but would’ve been nice. There was also recycling outside, which we utilized, but no cardboard recycling, which really piled up in our room.

Liked: The location of the property, the local staff, the cleanliness of the property, the well manicured property, the extended pool hours, the helpfulness and attentiveness of the concierge staff, the pleasentness of the front counter staff- making us feel like we were super important.

Great choice at Poipu!

Liked: Good sized rooms for families. Full kitchen. Staff had quick response to replenish towels and toiletries. Great location. Can see turtles, whales right around the resort. Very nice grounds and pool. Easy to explore the whole island. Concierge helpful in booking activities to do.
Disliked: Dated rooms. The rooms are not cleaned during the stay like in a normal hotel.
