The attached restaurant/owned separately was...

Liked: No breakfast included...left before the 7:30 AM coffee was set out. Quaint accommodations
Disliked: The sheer curtains did not block the street lights, parking lot lights...no shades, no blinds...unable to sleep much due to brightness. Could also hear bathroom activity from the room next door.

Excellent place

Liked: Old world charm. Cozy and comfortable. Staff was so friendly and helpful. The restaurant adjacent to hotel Redneck bistro has great food. Would recommend both places.
Disliked: Small tv and small bathroom.

Very nice

Liked: Very classic. Clean. Quiet. Friendly, helpful hostess. Location. Nice outside deck. Good Wi-Fi and many tv channels. On site restaurant, but I didn't eat there.
Disliked: Small TV. No fan in the bathroom. Few electric outlets.

Overall enjoyed our trip

Liked: Everything was nice and set up the way we wanted it. It was our anniversary so we enjoyed the relaxation and the time we had away from where we live.
Disliked: The room was nice but the bedside table had used tissues in it and that was gross.

Good value, great location, solid...

Liked: Jill and the staff were excellent. They were very responsive and friendly. They had good suggestions on places to eat and activities while in town. We had a cooler with some drinks and food that needed ice and she happily got us a bucket of ice from the restaurant whenever I asked. The location is right off main street right near all the action.
Disliked: The room was very tiny with thin walls and a very small bathroom. You could barely squeeze between the edge of the shower and the sink. Amenities are at a minimum. We checked in around 6pm and went out for a walk around town after dropping off our things in the room. When we returned after 9pm and the staff had retired for the night, we found out that our room had no toilet tissue. Jill explained the next morning that staff doesn't always go in each room because of Covid-19 but I would have thought that would have been checked before we checked in. Additionally, there are no small in-room refrigerators and the room didn't have a hairdryer for my wife and daughter. When I went down at 7am the next morning to ask where I could purchase a cheap hairdryer, they had one behind the desk that they gave to us. Maybe they just expected us to bring one? They did provide us with a number of rolls of tp and the hair dryer so it was only a minor inconvenience. Those are small complaints but worth noting that you are not getting all the amenities you would get at a lot of hotels. The value was still good, however.

A lovely stay! Easy to...

Liked: The room was very cozy with great AC, cable, and soft beds. We loved the character of the downstairs lobby area and the onsite restaurant had a great covered porch for hanging out for a bite and a drink. It was everything we needed for our stay in Lake Placid before we hit the trail. We are so, so appreciative to Jill (the owner) and the Pines Inn for our stay. She went above and beyond to help us car-less out-of-towners get to the trail head of the Northville-Placid Trail and put our trip off to the best start!
Disliked: The water took a moment to heat up, but otherwise no complaints!
