Liked: Friendly, welcoming staff. Ample hot water in the room. Great views over the surrounding countryside.
When the staff were not serving they did useful things rather than stand around looking bored - excellent.
Very dog friendly - there were quite a few dogs in the bar area during the evening
One of the side dishes on the menu is "chips with truffle infused Parmesan" which should be called "Cheesy Chips with ATTITUDE" Amazing!
Disliked: The room wasn't as large as I would have liked, but not a problem. A suggestion would be for housekeeping to set the radiator to take the chill off the room. A warmer room is more welcoming than a cold room. Being asked to pay for the room component of the stay when checking-in smacks of not trusting the customers not to leave without paying (especially when card details have to be given when using Booking.com!)

We had a really wonderful...
Liked: The staff were friendly and helpful, the bed was fantastically comfortable and the food (both the included breakfasts, and dinner purchased each evening in the pub) were wonderful.
Disliked: Whilst the location is gorgeous and conveniently close to several nearby attractions, it is not easy to reach if you are not driving, as we were not.

Disliked: Our room on the ground floor was very noisy, you could hear people walking upstairs

Lovely setting and excellent place...
Liked: The breakfast was a little haphazard and there only seemed to be one person serving. It seemed a little hit and miss what you got on your plate and to run out of orange juice and brown bread is not great. Having said that, the food tasted good and was all of good quality.
The view from our window was spectacular
Disliked: I think the cost of the room is just about ok

Liked: Wonderful intimate stone and wood, olde world ambience, allied to professionally designed interiors. Excellent parking facility. High up with fantastic views over the Cheshire plain. Some lovely country walks close by. Excellent bar and restaurant.
Disliked: As a hotel guest it would have been nice to have had a lounge area with comfy settees and armchairs.
