Very good

Staff are nice and room...

Liked: Staff were great! Really friendly and helpful where they could be. The room was lovely and bed was comfy. Good night's sleep was achieved.
Disliked: The whole stay wasnt worth £182 for 1 night. The swimming pool and hot tub were cold, the tv didn't work in the bedroom- staff did come replace the tv to help out. We advised the day before that will be coming with a trailer as part taking in a race on tracks nearby- was told to park round the back and there'd be plenty of space. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. The dinner at the resturant wasn't very pleasant either. Couldn't grab any breakfast as it didn't start til 8am despite having paid for in advance, no refund offered for the breakfast.

Lovely place and staff but...

Liked: Handy location. Friendly staff. Rooms comfortable.
Disliked: Corridor looked very tired, carpets were very dirty, bedroom doors need repainting.Expensive drinks. Very limited menu in the restaurant.

Sleepless night at the Barn...

Disliked: The room I was allocated was extremely noisy there was a machine of some kind in the room above which sounded like a washing machine full of bricks that was off and on all night. So along with the noise and the fact that the bed was extremely uncomfortable not much sleep was had. I morning I asked reception about the noise was told that they had never had complaints about this before. I find this hard to believe as on my arrival at the hotel when reception saw what room I was in they tried to get me an upgraded room but the hotel was busy so no other suitable room was available. Nothing was said at the time about why they were offering an upgrade I thought they were just being nice!! I sent an email to the hotel expressing my disappointment in my stay the day after my departure but received no response so Customer service serious lacking in my opinion

Disliked: The fact the lock on my door was temperamental, i returned from work to find my door completely unlocked ......luckily all my valuables were still there . It was very noisy, creaky with people moving around rooms/corridors etc furnishings very dated with worn carpet etc .

Very nice hotel - would...

Liked: Staying at the Barn Hotel was a really pleasant experience. I had a superior room which was very spacious and quiet - the first hotel I've ever stayed in where I wasn't woken several times by doors banging, floors creaking etc. The staff were universally friendly and helpful. All in all a great experience.
Disliked: Only one negative experience during my stay - I ordered the chilli con carne in the bar one evening for my son and the quantity that was served was TINY!! It was under the heading of main courses and it was around the same price as the main courses but it was the size of a starter (slightly smaller than the starter I ordered in fact). WHY? Nothing else in the hotel seemed like bad value for money so this was a standout disappointment. I should have commented at the time but I was too shocked!
