Liked: House is beautiful, especially with all the natural wood decor. Master suite was as comfortable as one could ask for. Grounds are verdant and a pleasure to stroll. Host was very congenial and thoughtful. Breakfast was delicious. My wife and I had a great stay, and enjoyed the experience immensely.

Great house, great hosts
Liked: Rick and Pat (the owners of this bed and breakfast) were the real highlights of this stay. They were very friendly and bent over backwards to make our stay pleasant. Their breakfasts were delicious, and they did a good job of accommodating my husband's gluten sensitivity. We were in Detroit for a family funeral in the middle of the winter, and it was wonderful to feel nurtured by them during a time like that. Rick even lent my husband a more formal and warm overcoat for the burial ceremony - just the fact that he anticipated this need was so very kind of him. Our room was spacious with lots of comfy seating and a very comfortable bed. It was a good place to recharge our internal batteries when we weren't busy with family activities. We loved all the period details of the house - they just don't make beautiful houses like that anymore. We would definitely stay at the Murphy House again. In fact, a lot more people already know about how great this place is, since we were touting it all week.

Liked: The Murphy House is an excellent choice for a comfortable and unique place to stay in the Pontiac area. Rick was a wonderful host who told us a bit about the history of the home and of the Pontiac area. He also cooked us an amazing breakfast! It is also located within walking distance of the newly renovated Flagstar Strand Theatre!
