Cheap and Not Cheerful

Liked: The evening staff were lovely and very helpful. Bed was comfy.
Disliked: Well, where to start.... it was dirty. Yes, they are renovating, but that doesn't stop them hoovering or wiping down filthy walls. The food was entirely vegan or vegetarian, and no warning was given. The bar was alcohol free. Breakfast was non-existant as we had to wait so long for a member of staff to show their face, (20 minutes) that by then we had run out of time to actually order and eat. Overall a pretty rotten experience and we will not be back!

Lovely hosts and food was...

Liked: Great hosts and the renovations they have completed are fantastic. The food was great and everything was good value for money.
Disliked: The noise from the the road - checked 3 times to make sure the window was actually closed (it was) and the noise from the room next door.

Friendly budget hotel, with very...

Liked: Fantastic service from the staff. Even although it was non alcoholic they allowed us to bring our own drink in. The menu was Vegetarian which not usually our cup of tea but the meals we had were outstanding.
Disliked: Not really much to dislike, it's a budget hotel, very good value, to be picky it's near a main road and our TV never worked. Otherwise no complaints

Renovations are underway

Liked: It was a budget, enroute stopover, and as such was a gamble. It was good to see that renovations were underway, and we enjoyed a new shower room. The owners and staff are very kind. The restaurant is vegetarian and alcohol free.We did enjoy a lovely breakfast.The owner kindly gave us a 2nd choice of room in the cottage to the rear, away from road noise.
Disliked: There is road noise in the rooms at the front of the hotel.It is still being upgraded, and there are some things needing completion.

Never book that accommodation ever....

Disliked: Everything.ROOMS:The rooms were dirty with rubbish under the bed. Windows didn’t close fully. The bed linen was torn. The shower was cold and didn’t run properly. The fridge was disgusting with moult in. The microwave was absolutely disgusting. The TV didn’t work. And one room didn’t have a TV. No heating in one of the rooms. Nowhere to put the clothes on. The shower drain was full of hairs and other smelly things. BREAKFASTWe were 7 and woke up quite early. Not a lot of people had their breakfast before us and still, there was nothing to eat. Nothing left for us. Very upsetting. The person in charge of the breakfast was nice and tried her best but couldn’t work normally because of lack of food. We paid for a service we didn’t get.
