Worth the stay if you want to save some cash, but you're getting what you pay for. Don't expect anything on par with a modern hotel. Tube TV, no microwave, condensed rooms, shower and toilet within an inch of each other, old heater/AC and walls lacking insulation to name a few.

Liked: Historic building they're slowly renovating; very cheap for the area; breakfast.
Disliked: Very thin walls; uncomfortably tiny bathroom; questionable neighborhood; stiff/noisy bed; A/C didn't work.

Thanks so much for your attention and kindness; we had a good time there.

Liked: Very good.

Poor - 1 out of 5

Cindy, Woodlandhills, visiting Echoplex Los Angeles Mon, 27 May 2013

I would not stay here again for FREE. The room was filthy, small, and weirdly spaced (like, the toilet was right on top of the half-shower, and the half-shower was a slip-and-fall waiting to happen). The service was horrible. They had two settings: hostile and apathetic. The "breakfast" (basically cold bagels and bad juice) was $13 per person, and parking (non-valet), on the open roof with no security, was another $13 per night. I would have rather stayed in my car. I have never been so glad to leave a hotel in my life.

Liked: Nothing.
Disliked: Everything - the check-in process was confusing and hostile. The staff was apathetic at best, and appeared to prefer to argue than converse with a paying guest. As I never got an answer when dialing either maid service OR the front desk, the phone was useless.

Disliked: I wouldn't recommend to anyone. Got to be one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed at. Very disappointed.

Just right

Liked: The staff at night was wonderful and very accomodating. The valet parking is conveinent and worth the price. The bar in the lobby had lots of people and music, had a great time. The rooms are good if you just want something simple. Very close to the convention center i needed to be at. Very close off the freeway. Would love to stay here again.
Disliked: The rooms are a bit small and pretty bare bones. Didn't have a fridge in my room and the bed wasn't the best. The lady who checked me in was rude.

Glam theatrical decor but shabby...

Liked: The building itself, the decor, and food at the bar are all exquisite, as is the hip coffee bar downstairs
Disliked: This is my 2nd time here. Equally AWFUL in terms of sanitary conditions both times! The rooms are so dusty, there is not a truly clean surface anywhere .the phone, the tv remote, the lamps-ugh! Nothing is cleaned. The outrageous noise of a party going on on my floor took management 3 hours to clear out

Overall it was a great...

Liked: The art work around the entire hotel was awesome. The rooms are modern & comfy. The new pool area is a plus, with weekend brunch rooftop.
Disliked: The room was way smaller than i thought. Made reservations for the restaurant but could not be accommodated to busy volume. Pricey drinks gosh!!!
