Kelly was great at communicating...

Liked: The architect and style of the building are really pretty. Its subtlety came as a surprise from my first impression. The Inn is a hidden gem. The outside trees provide a natural shade and cover, keeping temperatures low. That?s a big plus. The room, itself, stylish: high ceilings give the room depth, clean carpet floors add comfort. The numerous amount of windows are beautiful. A wondrous illumination gleams in. The close knit terrain outside prevents harsh sunlight. The COVID regulations keeps everything quiet: very nice. All in all: very comfortable. I would definitely come back. Nov. 8, 2020

Best stay in the Bywater
Liked: Absolutely love this place. Second time staying here, both times were consistent in fulfilling expectations. Wonderful staff who responded promptly. The backyard is a dream. There rooms are spacious, themed, and quiet comfortable. The neighborhood is exactly what I?m looking for when I come into town.
Disliked: It isn?t major, but I did have difficulty sleeping straight through the night. Those New Orleans trains/ships/weirdly boisterous birds can make for a bump in the night or two, although I can?t see how that wouldn?t be true no matter where you were staying.

Disliked: Nothing bad that I can think of.

Excellent! Kelly is a great...
Liked: The location was close to everything we wanted to go to, but was far enough away that I wasn?t worried about intoxicated tourists trying to bother us. A short 5-10 minute drive to anything we wanted to do! The room was comfy and cozy, and a great place to regroup and decide what we wanted to do. The pool was a great way to cool off, and the backyard is adorable.
Disliked: Sometimes the WiFi booted us off, for whatever reason. But we rarely used the WiFi, because we tried to be out and about exploring the city. Most likely a service issue, and not in the hosts control.

Charming B&B in a cool...
Liked: The room was large, comfortable, and nice, and the building itself is beautiful. Checking in was easy. We really enjoyed the pool and the lush patio, and the charming retro aesthetic. There are several bars and restaurants within walking distance. It was also very easy to drive to and park. And +10000 points for being an actual legal B&B instead of an illegal Airbnb.
Disliked: I was very happy with the Lookout Inn, but next time I would try to book one of the more kitschy themed rooms. We were in the Mission room, which lovely, but there's also a Marilyn Monroe room and an Elvis room (which were occupied) and those sounded really fun. The upstairs rooms are also up a pretty steep stairway, so the downstairs rooms are better for people who might not want to climb stairs.

Liked: If you're looking for a place on the Quarter where you can booze it up and crawl back to your bed, this may not be the spot for those endeavors. However, to me, the Lookout Inn is so much better than those types of places. It's only a couple of miles from the most action-y area. It's relaxing and peaceful. Spacious. Shady. The innkeeper is a delight. The room was so comfortable and it felt as though you were staying at a friend's very cozy home while she is out of town. Kelly was there if I needed her but was careful to respect my space. Had no trouble finding street parking. Restaurants are within walking distance. The neighborhood was eclectic. The word that kept coming to mind was quaint. It was like a top-notch bed and breakfast, sans breakfast. Ha. But there is coffee! And a lovely little pool area. A claw-footed tub. A mini-fridge. Percy the Frenchie. I didn't want to leave and can't wait to go back with my guy and a pooch or two.
Disliked: The only things I wished I had in my room were paper towels and a microwave. There are fairly steep and somewhat narrow stairs to get to the suite I stayed in but there is a downstairs unit that only requires climbing porch steps. To be clear, I had no problem with the stairs but thought I'd note it so there are no surprises for those who might have an issue with them.
