The most inhospitable hotel owner...
Liked: I would not recommend this hotel.
Disliked: My wife arrived at this hotel at 8 A.M. after flying a red-eye cross country (as specified when I booked the room) and was met by LOCKED DOOR, a phone number taped to the door (which one answered the first two times she called), a 20-minute wait outside in 35-degree cold, and then in a (stranger) guest's room, and finally, a hotel OWNER saying, "I DON'T CARE that you were inconvenienced. It's not like it was a blizzard!" :) Actual quote.

Liked: Love the muffins that are already in the refrigerator for the morning. I have been staying here repeatedly for 4 years and I have ALWAYS found the staff helpful and accommodating. That means a lot as I often traveled with numerous family members, parents, wife, father in laws etc. Also you receive buy one get one drink coupons for the college/beach bar next door.
Disliked: There is no late night kitchen or a place to get breakfast without leaving the hotel.

Beautiful location by day, Torture...
Disliked: Located in and amongst OFF campus Fairfield University student housing.10:00 PM-3:00AM loud, drunken , in the streets, right outside the door, hollering, laughing, and wild partying. The police were there, they couldn't care less.Add to thus the nightclub literally attached to the property with loud thumping music created a nightmare of a no sleep night. You are trapped in a "frat party" from which you cannot escape. Torture for $179

Great sister's weekend in a...
Liked: The Inn is just steps to the beach and the room was quite lovely and comfortable, perfect for me and my sister. The muffins and OJ were a nice touch. We liked having the mini fridge and coffee maker and the coupon for a free drink (although we never got the chance to use it!). The staff is super helpful and friendly.
Disliked: When booking, I didn't realize the Inn was right in the middle of college housing with a bar next door. We had no issues with noise as others have commented, but I can imagine there would be depending on the time of year. Luckily for us, the seniors hadn't moved in yet - they were moving in on the day we checked out. I doubt I'd want to stay there when school is in session, but it was a great spot for our purposes. The room could use a few more supplies, such as a wine bottle opener or knives and forks, maybe a sponge. All we saw was dishwash soap, but nothing to wash things with, no utensils, etc. Had to go buy a wine bottle opener; probably should have left it for the next guy. Was disappointed our deck had no view.

The Inn was more beautiful...
Liked: The INN was wonderful. Clean, bright, comfortable and in a great location. Loved the juice and muffins each morning. The walk to the beach was easy and it was not far at all. Outdoor faucet and shower to get the sand off were very helpful. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Disliked: We were in Room 2 and the only thing we would have liked different was a loveseat instead of the one stuffed chair.
