Outdated Hotel. Not value for...

Liked: Location was good. Staff friendly although only really saw one girl. Room spacious
Disliked: Room was ok on first impression. Nice big room with a seaview. Then we saw the mold on the wall by the window. The window to look out at the seaview was frosted over due to the failure of the double glazing. The seaview we asked for was therefore a waste of time. Mold on wall in dining room.Breakfast plentiful but cheap and tasteless. Hotel is very old and outdated. Car park spaces very small. We parked in space 5 and left the car there for the 2 days. We went back to it and found it full of bird [email protected]@. Avoid space 5 as it's under a telephone wire and we were unaware of the amount of pigeons. Breakfast time is given to guests to spread people out over couple hrs. Each morning we came down for breakfast and had to wait about 20 mins in a different room in a queue.

Great welcome

Liked: Their careful attention to the current Covid situation taking all the right precautions to care fir the guests. the breakfast was great and it?s in a really good central situation due all the amenities in town
Disliked: The only observation was that our room had a wonderful sea view, but the seal in the window had gone which spoilt the view slightly. it was still a great view.

Great b&b!

Liked: Room was clean and well equipped. We had a great sea view. Some new pillows wouldn't hurt, but bed was comfortable enough. The breakfast was lovely, have seen more extensive breakfasts, but there was plenty of everything and enough variety for everyone.Every member of staff we met was fantastic and the covid safety measures, although extensive, were great. Location was perfect, just a short walk to the town and beaches, but out of the main hassle and bustle of the town. The neighbouring hotel bar could be a bit noisy, which I think if you were having an early night or had kids might be a bit of an issue, but outside the control of Gelndeveor. We had a Seaview room, which was lovely! We will definitely try and book again on our next visit to Newquay.

Comfy one night stop

Liked: Comfy bed, good shower, parking behind the property, good location to walk into town, key fob entry.
Disliked: The decor is a bit dated and could do with updating in places. Their covid rules seemed a bit OTT compared to other places we've stayed in recently. I'm all for mask wearing and sanitizing regularly to keep safe, but the rules about breakfast seemed a bit too far. We had to queue for breakfast and then when we were eventually allowed in there were very few people in there anyway so I don't know why we had to wait. Perhaps if you're going to continue with this system, you should instead book people for timeslots when they arrive the night before so they don't have to queue.
