Clean sheets and good eats

Liked: Michael was friendly, the breakfast was great and the bed was comfy . Although there was no wifi, unfortunately they said to just be patient it takes a bit to connect, but it just took you to a page saying " how to set up your modem" . Also the location was further from blue mountain village then expected, a few $30 cab rides happened. Overall, was a good experience the house was clean , friendly people and a good breakfast.

Misrepresented and unsatisfactory.

Liked: The location was good as it was close to downtown Collingwood. The bed was very comfortable.
Disliked: The website images and description of the facilities are outright lies and extremely misleading. The exterior of the house is a mess with weedy, overgrown gardens. It looks abandoned and derelict. The front door is covered in cobwebs and the stairs are crumbling. The patios are unkept and the furniture is dirty and there is nothing that would entice you to want to sit out there. They look nothing like the pictures on the website. The interior of the house was covered in dust and cobwebs. There was NO staff at the house at all except for the person that came to make us breakfast. There was no 'gourmet' breakfast as described in the website or shown in the pictures. We were not asked at any point what we wanted to eat and had a plate of scrambled eggs with half a slice of ham and some soggy white bread toast placed in front of us. I could go on. We had paid for and planned to stay for 2 nights but left after the first to find better accommodations. I read all the reviews from both booking.com and Trivago and believe that there was a time when the owners lived onsite and ran the place and provided the service and quality they show on their website. However it is clear that is no longer the case. When reading the responses to previous negative reviews the owner is defensive and goes on and on about the sheets and towels and patios and gardens (which don't actually exist) and everything else that is stated on the website, however nice sheets don't make up for the disgraceful lack of service, food and facilities that actually are there.

Uncomfortable and could not leave...

Liked: Nothing, really. Not far from downtown.
Disliked: It would be more appropriate to call this place a hostel. Bedrooms are ridiculously small, and one tiny shared bathroom for 6 persons does not work. No one lives in the B&B(?) and check-in after 3:30pm is done by phone. Someone arrives in the morning to serve some food in the most perfunctory manner and no options. Poorly scrambled egss, cold buttered toast and a whole half a thin slice of some sort of ham sausage. There's no garden to view and the Queen (?) rooms have double beds -read the fine print. Should not be in the B&B category. Poor value.

Fine for what we needed...

Liked: Everyone we interacted with was helpful and lovely. It was nice eating breakfast in the backyard.
Disliked: Our room was very dusty (I have an allergy which made it hard to sleep) and the bed was unsupportive and uneven in the middle. The basement room we ended up in had very low ceilings, unpleasant decor and was freezing. The small space heater swirled the dust in the room around and made it stuffy and unpleasant to sleep in. In the morning we were woken up by the smallest hint of movement in the rooms or kitchen upstairs. Do not sleep in the basement.
