First visit and not disappointed,...

Liked: Breakfast excellent, staff excellent, food quality and cooking high, location ideal, hotel warm and cosy
Disliked: Water pressure in shower was low but bath fine. Light in bedroom low

A lovely introduction to a...

Liked: We very much enjoyed our stay and thought the extra facilities such as the sitting rooms were excellent. The forest view from our room was lovely and the staff were all friendly and helpful.
Disliked: We could have done with a light on the dressing table or a better light for reading in bed.

Great location and good food.

Liked: The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable, the view from the room was beautiful. The staff were all kind and efficient. The breakfast and dinner were both very nice.
Disliked: The room was a little tight. The door not able to fully open as there was hardly room to move around the bed. This venue was definitely more catered for an older clinetel which is not a criticism, just a note for others.

As good as ever -very...

Liked: My bacon was overcooked - a small thing. We had 2 evening meals and the veggie curry was excellent - better than I've had in Indian restauranys
Disliked: Perhaps less melon in the fruit for breakfast.

A good 2 night break...

Liked: Lovely hotel in the New Forest. We chose a room overlooking the forest and it was wonderful to wake up, open the curtains and see the New Forest ponies having their breakfast. The room was spotless, warm and generous in size. We ate in the restaurant on the first night and we were pleased with our choices, it was well cooked and presented. Breakfast the next morning was just as good, with plenty of choices which would please everyone's own personal preferences.
Disliked: The only thing that was irritating rather than poor was the body wash/shampoo bottle in the shower. The push mechanism was possibly broken as after each push down you had to pull it back up to be able to continue and repeat again. Nothing major but would be good to replace if possible.

A few days away!

Liked: From the moment we arrived (which was early for check in) we were made very welcome, we decided to have a light lunch and a bottle of wine, both were very good value and quality.We we told before the end of our lunch that the room was ready ( again before official check in)The situation is perfect for walking in the forest and also to the village centre. Plenty of places to explore for a few days for sure !We had Dinner that evening et the hotel and the food was superb, and again very good value.We were chilling in one of the lounges and both of the proprietors came and had a drink and a chat with us, which I thought was a nice touch.The room we had overlooked the forest and we had an amazing view of the ponies in the morning chasing each other.The room was cosy and warm, nice shower room and spotlessly clean

Long weekend in the New...

Liked: Location is great, on door step of New Forest, walkable to village centre. Good choice of restaurants in Brockenhurst.
Disliked: Rooms a little tired and dated.
