Poor - 1 out of 5

Disappointing

Liked: Staff were very accommodating in letting us leave early, we had to cut short our stay. Friendly and very helpful.
Disliked: This is in no way a 5 star hotel, don?t be fooled. It?s old, shabby and our room was dirty with awful old pillows and bedding. The whole hotel was in need of full renovation and the breakfast was very poor.

Very comfortable, the food was...

Liked: The bed was exceptionally comfortable and a good size. The location was very close to most amenities, Breakfast was was very good and tasty.
Disliked: On-site parking was limited and we had to park on the road. The frosting on the bathroom windows didn't give total privacy, however, there was a screen in the room that we used to spare anyone's blushes.

Very Very Disappointing

Liked: Breakfast was the only thing that was acceptable and the young guy serving us was polite and professional Johnny checked us in and was also friendly and helpful That?s where it ends.
Disliked: The room was supposed to be deluxe absolutely definitely not the case . Its dingy bland and depressing. It was the garden room the best thing was when you opened the curtains and saw the garden best bit ended there. The bathroom small and in urgent need of repair and freshening up 2 of the lights in there didn?t work paint per lit of the wall and shower surround badly need regrouting looked horrid so didn?t use it. The place where you had to hang up clothes was a cubby hole were you had to stoop to even try to hang anything up tricky when hubby is 6?3. The room was meant to have bathrobes and Bose system there was neither. The towels in bathroom were paper thin and not good quality We were meant to stay 3 nights we checked out after 1 and went to stay at the nearby Bird hotel instead and what a difference.

Superb

Liked: We had a lovely time at The Ayrlington. The room was really comfortable and lovely. The hotel was in a great location and the staff were all so friendly. We had a wonderful time with a lovely garden and lounge facility. The evening receptionist, Johnny was also particularly friendly and helpful. Breakfasts were very nice.
Disliked: I would only say parking could be improved a bit and the hotel could do with.more signage for evening arrivals (we passed it three times before finding it.)

Pleasant

Liked: The location was great. The room was good size. The decor was nice but run down. The breakfast was tasty. Very covid ready, staff very friendly and polite
Disliked: The breakfast service felt very rushed and we were the last sitting. The room had seen better days. The bed valance was crooked, the blind chain broke as soon as we put it down, there is no full length mirror. There no plugs close to the mirror in the bathroom to plug a hairdryer. The pictures make it look more luxurious than it is. The cad park is very tight, we were blocked in by another car on the day we checked out and they had gone out for the day, so we had to leave at 1.00pm when they came back. Generally it feels dated and needs

The Ayrlington

Liked: The location is great for walking into the town centre. They did their best following covid rules. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was good.
Disliked: The bed was very soft, making us wake up with sore backs each morning. The place looks a bit tired with cracked walls and some things were broken. There was dust on the walls and some areas had clearly not been cleaned for a while, dust and cobwebs in closet.
