Disliked: Elevators are a very tight fit and very easy to get stuck in a wheelchair. Rest in peace my carer’s toes

Lovely hotel would recommend

Liked: lovely spacious room and bathroom, plenty of storage. Bar was great, staff very approachable and helpful. Right in the centre of Cardiff but far enough away so the noise was not overwhelming.

Liked: The reception staff were friendly and very helpful.Room cleanliness and size.The hotel's location.
Disliked: We didn't get much sleep due to our room overlooking the main road, which had police/ambulance vehicles with siren sounds going up and down the road into the early hours.The room decor was dated, and the bed mattress was soft and bumpy. Bright outside light on the wall outside our room shining through the gaps in the curtains, which kept my daughter awake on the folding bed.Breakfast was not nice. Eggs and hash browns were very greasy. The mushrooms were cooked in black pepper, which was difficult to spot until you tasted it. The sausages and bacon overcooked. Broken tea pot lid - had to use a spoon to pry open and nearly burnt my hand as no staff were around at the time to change the pot.

Beautiful old hotel but tired...

Liked: Beautiful hotel with original period features. Staff very friendly and professional. Bed clean & comfortable. Good central location, not too noisy.
Disliked: Room was tired and needed modernising, bathroom grubby in places.

Absolutely amazing location, wonderful warm...

Liked: Friendly welcome. Very lovely housekeeper - nothing too much trouble.
Disliked: I’m sure the hotel was magnificent in its day. It is a stunning building. It felt like it needs money spending on it, to retain its heritage but modernise the room, lift, etc.
