Liked: This is the worst room ever. No hot water. Toilet did not flush. Beds were dirty. Holes in the walls,ceiling,furniture is broken. Sink is broken. Smells nasty. Just an awful place to stay,never book here
Disliked: I hated everything

One step up from squatting...

Liked: The people who work there are great! I wish I could give them 10/10. But the room . . .Another good thing is that it is close to the freeway but you can't hear the noise. It is also near a grocery store, near lots of fast food options, and near a gas station. It does have a pool (I didn't use it). The mini-fridge was handy. The room is pretty big, and has a couch and dresser as well as a TV. The wifi was free, and worked well enough to stream a show on my laptop. (I watched Suits while dreaming of a better world.) Also, the sheets were scratchy but the bed itself was a king-size, and very comfortable compared to the rest of the room. Amazingly I didn't see insects in the room, though there was a nest of bees on the stairway outside. Oh and it didn't smell. (Also amazing, because I nicer hotel room I found ended up smelling strongly of gym socks.)
Disliked: This place was exactly one step up from squatting in an abandoned building, though to their credit the mini-fridge was clean and worked. Their ad should read: "Stay with us! The door locks and we have running water, which is way better than sleeping in your car or a refrigerator box." There was no hot water in the shower. The towels were stained. The ceiling panels had huge water stains. The walls were peeling.There were two phones in the room, but neither of them worked - why bother? One lamp didn't work; most others had an unpleasant glare that revealed to much about the sad state of the walls. The shower had rust stains in the tub, and the water came out brown at first. I took a cold shower anyway (while wearing flip-flops to protect my feet) because it was muggy outside and I needed one badly, but then I got dressed again and slept in my clothes because I was afraid of what might be in the bed. I'm not sure it'll be safe to take my luggage home.On top of that, the price I got via Booking.com was double the hotel's usual rate; I was able to find a much nicer hotel for $25 less/night once I got into town. And it is NOT near the Alamo; it is at the front gate of the air force base. To top it all off, the lady in the room below us proceeded to yell and yodel like Tarzan at the top of her lungs, on and off all night. Drugs? Mental illness? Who can say. Earplugs mostly solved it, so bring some. Also the loud rattling of the room's A/C unit was nice because it helped drown her out. (Luckily the A/C works, because the window doesn't open.)I have stayed in sketchy hostels while backpacking through Europe, and this is still the worst room I've ever slept in. You will probably survive the experience (though I'm sure not everyone has) but you will still wonder whether the air force ought to use it as a test range since it is so handily close by.

Liked: The floors looked new, and the beds looked nice. Right outside the army base within walking distance of a decent mexican restaurant.
Disliked: Picked this for the free breakfast, which they do not offer anymore. The door were original (1950's) with paint pealing off and panels broken and just painted over. Stains on the walls. High screach when water used next door, shower not hot.

Disliked: everything! our first room the outlets did work, there wasnt any warm water, bed sheets all wet, then changed to a second room and the lights didn't work, said they would fix it never came to fix. one staff didn't want to let me in my own room because it was under my husband's name and not mine!! asked for my refund for 5 days they didn't give it back so i had to stay there. service horrible, never will stay here again!!
