All in all, it was...

Liked: It was a great place to stay! We loved hanging out on the veranda in between trails. The staff was very friendly. The nachos and Long Islands rock!
Disliked: The only I wish we had was a small refridgerator in our room so we could have water chilled and ready for use without having to keep buying single bottles.

Don't stay here save your...

Liked: Housekeeping was the only friendly staff.
Disliked: I had rated them highin the past. Lodge is very nice and comfortable, and clean. However the front desk staff is incredibly rude and inattentive. I made the mistake on my own of booking a room with double beds totally my fault. However I asked 4 times for a roll away bed, twice though the booking company once through the lodge when I reconfirmed and once at the desk. The girl at the front desk was rude and condescending like I had asked for her firstborn. Check in time was stated at booking was 3. Went in to see if we could check in early at 2. Told room not ready check in 15 minutes.. 230 room not ready check in 15...... did this until 3:00 when my wife asked and was told another 20 minutes. Mind you several people had already checked in ahead of us. While we were waiting I wandered the hot and found zero housekeeping carts out working until the time we checked in. Asked for a roll away bed for my 14 year old son who had already been registered with the room. The girl at the front desk acted like I asked for her first born, and was put out by the request. I was also told no charge. I checked my account the next morning and found I had been charged for the bed. We did not add people to the room. I asked about it and the girl quite rudely said she would take the charge off, and then asked me if I would be checking out. I said no I have one more day. She said well you seem not happy and figured you were leaving. I said im staying for the day I paid for but under no circumstances will be paying for the roll away. The back door lounge was absolutely ridiculous. Food was good but a bill for 3 sandwiches for nearly 50 bucks is ridiculous. Our server NEVER told us regular fries were extra, she said only the sweet potato fries were extra but we were charged for fries we were told came with the meal by the server, and also an extra 2 bucks for cheese on two sandwiches where it states the sandwich comes with cheese, again PER THE SERVER.

Nice lodge in the park

Liked: Food was good at the main dining and the cafe. Nice
Disliked: The bathroom was small and toilet roll was in place where you won't expect it to be ( the door)

Nice stay in beautiful surroundings.

Liked: This is a state park and great hiking area. The views from the everywhere in and around the lodge were wonderful. The animal life was fun to see especially the daily walk by of a raccoon. For what we wanted there were plenty of things to do. We appreciated the free wi-fi. It was easy to get to.
Disliked: The food in the dining room was variable. Sometimes it was very good like the pot roast. Sometimes it was so-so to poor like the walleye. The toilet in the room bathroom was as low as it could possibly be and presented problems for some one with mobility issues. Had to go down the hall to the public handicap bathroom.

Perfect Get-Away

Liked: This park attracts millions of visitors and yet it is immaculately groomed and the hiking trails are fantastic! We stayed 3 nights in the lodge and were delighted with the whole place. The dining room is like walking into history and the food was sublime! The terrace behind the lodge is delightful!
Disliked: Very sad to leave!
