Quiet cottage in a great...

Liked: Great location but you need a car. Plenty of room and all the comforts of home. Very quiet with free parking nearby. Heating was good, hot water and effective shower. Fantastic kitchen with a professional range.
Disliked: The directions could have been better as we ended up at the back of the cottage not realising there was a 'front' accessible only by foot. Once we found this the house number and keypad were easy to identify. (Also really silly bathroom taps- but that's a curiosity rather than a problem). Please note- The address says Newport but it is 2 miles away. you can drive or get a bus at the top of the lane. We used the lovely cycle path/bridleway which runs along the river to Newport.

Despite some concerns about the...

Liked: Location close to 'Island Marina' is good and gives easy access to most of the Isle. Despite being in a terrace of 'cottages', it is very quiet and neighbors seem friendly. The cottage seems well equipped but there are some problems.
Disliked: The property and patio/garden needs quite a lot of maintenance/tlc. Hard mattress, broken door and window sills, badly chipped plaster adjacent to door frame, fascia strips on some windows missing, dripping tap, overgrown patio/garden. I wonder when the owners were last on site? Despite all this, it was really only the rather hard double mattress that affected our stay and we had an enjoyable stay on Wight.

Fabulous property and a quiet...

Liked: We stayed over Christmas and as promised the house was decorated beautifully. The house is very cosy and well furnished with log burner, L-shaped sofa, flat screen TV with freeview. Wifi is adequate so it is worth taking a fire stick or equivalent for Netflix/Amazon Prime which we certainly enjoyed over Christmas. The kitchen is certainly large enough for 4 people and well appointed with range cooker, fridge and separate freezer. There is sufficient storage for food and there is plenty of space for dog beds. I like the fact that you can park very close to the house for free (which is not always the case!) and you can pull up right outside the house for loading/unloading. Everything on the estate is very clean and well kept and because it is a little out of the way it is very quiet.
Disliked: There wasn't a welcome pack as described but that wasn't a significant negative point. Other than that I can't think of anything that we could fault. There were a couple of maintenance issues which I will contact the owner directly about but this just relates to general wear and tear and did not in any way impact on our stay.

Liked: Quite location but two pubs/restaurants within a 20min walk, dog friendly, a clean cottage with everything you could ask for
Disliked: Nothing
