Missed potential
Liked: The location was near attractions and convient to get to. The private entrance and grounds gave the air of exclusivity.
Disliked: Upon our arrival, we were informed that the indoor pool was closed due to needed repairs for the ceiling. Unfortunately, our visit was plagued with raining and cold days. This negatively impacted our child's enjoyment, and consequently ours. There were empty shampoo containers in the walkway leading to our room and a strong unpleasant odor from the natural gas supply near the room entrance. Assumingly, this was a leak and may have posed a safety risk. The television in our room was not working properly. The hotel management sent someone to repair it, but they were unable to do so. It would require a replacement that could not be done until the following day. Additionally, the pump for the body wash dispenser in the shower was also broken. These are items that should have been identified and fixed through a routine check of the facilities before we checked in. Although the public recreational areas seemed generally well kept, the frequent occurrence of guests outside partaking in weed smoking created an uncomfortable setting to walk around in with my daughter. Although it seems like a small issue, the need to pay 2.50 to use the automatic coffee machine in the lobby made the hotel feel cheap overall. This facility had the potential to be a beautiful and welcoming stay, but the accumulated effect of all these small issues led to a disappointing experience.
