Liked: It?s a piece of zen in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Manhattan- amazing deal and huge room! Wonderful communications with the staff as well. Already looking into booking again for next NY trip this year.

Little apartment with patio
Liked: Kitchen. Patio. Nice front desk staff.
Disliked: The linen situation is awkward. After 5 days I requested clean sheets. They wouldn't let me change the bed myself. When the cleaner changed the bed, she also rearranged my stuff (my toothbrush, my shoes, the kettle, my luggage, etc.). I suppose my things were in the wrong place, but I did not want the cleaner to put them into the correct place. I just wanted clean sheets! Don't touch my stuff! Let me change my own bed. (Later when I tried to exchange a dirty towel for a clean one, the cleaner wouldn't do it because the towel wasn't authorized. I tried to phone the front desk for towel authorization, but no one picked up the phone. Authorization effectively denied.) Strange and awkward system.

Liked: It was very comfortable. Breakfast was good. Rooms were comfortable and well equipped
The yoga did seem popular. However we never tried it. The property was very relaxing throughout
Disliked: If your going sight seeing in the New York City. It?s just too far out. From most main attractions Upon breakfast. Pending if your time coincided with a class. We heard chanting which amused my daughter.

A place that is eco-conscientious,...
Liked: The staff was friendly, accommodating my late arrival, helped me to my room(quiet and surprisingly peaceful for East Village NYC). The manager also offered recommendations for a healthy meal locally. The early complimentary yoga class was a bonus with expert teacher. The neighborhood is eclectic with lots of restaurants and venues within blocks in a safe and unique gem neighborhood away from the hustle and bustle of the touristy areas. Definitely coming back on my stays in NYC. Breakfast included huge fresh blueberries and raspberries and eco-friendly with no styrofoam or wasted plastic utensils. Thank you sanctuary for conscientious, economical, comfortable, healthy home-away-from-home feel.
Disliked: I do not drink caffeine and surprisingly I could not find decaf coffee in the neighborhood. A deli offered me Sanka. The hotel had plenty of teas, many decaf but I love my coffee. I'll have to search around.
