Rydges St Kilda

Was OK but needs to be renovated to keep up with what other hotels have to offer.

Liked: Friendly service and room was very clean.
Disliked: The TV remote was working properly and the remotes were changed on a couple of occasions and the bed springs weren't that good. You rolled in the middle and woke up with a sore back.

Pleasant

Liked: Location. Although with an Uber, you could pretty much just get anywhere nearby.
Disliked: I felt like the bathroom was dirty. The hotel was loud. You could hear people talking and walking past your room. The photos do not look like they do online.

Great location, affordable and comfortable

Liked: Location was great, parking was great and ease of mind knowing it was locked up and safe, man at reception was lovely and so helpful, explained things well. Room was great, clean and comfortable. Love the added touches of safety and security (elevator and doors needing a room key to access).
Disliked: Nothing about the hotel itself. But room either above us or next to us made a lot of thumping noises while we were trying to sleep.

Liked: Close to everything and public transport

Good location and staff, but...

Liked: Location was good for what we were travelling for we were close to our destination, entry wasn’t too bad for the area it’s in
Disliked: Due to not having a credit card, I found the $100 hold on my debit card a bit unexpected. While I was happy to proceed, for the price of the room I likely would have booked elsewhere with a higher standard.Unfortunately, the bathroom wasn’t as clean as I would have hoped—there was hair in the sink and shower, which made it feel like it hadn’t had a proper clean. The water pressure in the shower was also quite poor, and the elevators felt a bit unreliable.It was fine for a one-night stay, but I wouldn’t be in a hurry to return.That said, the staff were pleasant and the foyer layout was quite nice and welcoming.

Disliked: The bathroom was leaking water everywhere and the beddings had stains. No microwave was provided. Please improve on this.

I'd rather have paid an...

Liked: The room and service areas appeared clean. The lady at check in was lovely.
Disliked: The beds weren't comfortable. We had no access to hot water throughout our stay.

A waste of money

Disliked: - Terrible elevator - Don’t even advertise that there is a “gym”. Not even close- Uncomfortable pillows - No view - EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE for what we got, no breakfast included- No toilet brush- Staff were unenthusiastic to put it kindly
