Clean and comfortable, but too...

Fool me once....
Liked: This was a remodelled DIVE. Someone spent some time & money with this remodel so I wish I could be more positive. The positives to this overpriced DIVE were:
1) clean...when that ceases to be true, there won't be one redeeming factor to this motel.
2)hard flooring...cleaner than carpeting.
3) no bed bugs...nice sheets w/o signs of bugs or blood.
4) Strong secure doors with great lock...all rooms open to the outdoors.
5)Good lights in the parking lot.
Disliked: At least 2-2.5 miles from Interstate 24. Difficult to find even with Mapquest. This was NOT a good area, feared for the security of the items exposed in my car, peeked out the window at least 4 times in the 5 hours of fitful sleep, "no that noise wasn't someone breaking in the car." Too few parking spaces & seriously narrow, a miracle we didn't get a "ding" in the car. 3 inch thick hard pillows. The bed was OK. Thin silky bedspread (removed) and No blankets but the heater worked for the cool night & was quiet. Must have been single pane windows which allowed EVERY sound from outside: quiet conversations on the walk, geeks gunning their cars all night long & squealing away when not able to find what they wanted (?parking space or what?). The noise coming through the room walls kept waking me up. The refrigerator had a constant sound of cooing pigeons. Funky"old" odor to the place. This motel was priced at least 1/3 more than the highest fair rate. No one mentioned breakfast, I have no idea if one was offered, but we were at least 100 miles down the road before sunrise.
