I'm glad I didn't cancel
Liked: After I reserved the room, I read the reviews. (You cannot always go by bad reviews.) After reading the reviews, I called Choice Hotels to cancel. I walked into the hotel lobby with Choice on the other end. Manager Amber was at the front desk. I asked if it was possible to cancel.Manager Amber is professional, warm and approachable. First, she instructed me to contact Booking.com. She could not guarantee how long the cancellation process would take on their end. Then, Amber asked curiously, "Why are you cancelling?" I told her that I read the reviews about the crawling pests. Amber assured me that the problem was handled. She also stated the pest problem was with a few rooms. Since that time, the rooms were treated and also upgraded. Amber assigned a room that was pest free. She said, "I've never had a complaint about this room."I'm so glad that I didn't cancel. The room was clean, quiet (no loud smoking neighbors) and pest free. Normally, I carry my own cleaning supplies. The room and floors were already clean.Another thing about Amber. She said, "Just so you'll know...we have these items for breakfast." She named the breakfast items.Amber is a mulit tasker. She takes pride in making sure the customer is taken care of.I was so impressed, l stayed an extra day!Check out: A wonderful representative named Madyson checked me out. I asked a question. She answered and explained patiently like a college professor.On the day I checked out, the exterminator was on the property spraying.TV: I don't know about the channels or clarity. I don't watch tv and haven't for many years. The commercials are too loud. Alot of the content on tv is triggering. I listen to music instead.Breakfast: I don't eat breakfast. I usually have a hot cup of green tea in my room.To help with pests, I have a part to play.
Disliked: 1) The rooms in the front of the hotel are about 100 feet from a very BUSY highway (288) Rush hour AM & PM is loud. I turned the music up during those times. That's not the hotel's fault. 2) I was in room 107. I couldn't park in front of the room because spaces painted red are designated for fire emergencies. That's not the hotel's fault. 3) There is a little gap at the bottom of the room entrance door. I opened the door and a huge mosquito was buzzing around the gap. *Solution: I sprayed a few drops of pine sol at the bottom of the closed door outside. Mosquitoes, gnats and bugs hate incense. I couldn't burn incense. They also hate the intense smell of dryer sheets, pine sol and essential oil (patchouli, citronella, lemon grass, eucalyptus, tea tree oil, cedar oil, etc.) The pine and two drops of essential oil was sprayed on paper towels and rolled to fill the gap without getting it on the floor. No biting insects or bugs entered. *

Liked: Clean and comfortable, sweet lady checked me in , Nobody rushed me at 10am like some hotels do! I would stay again for sure ! Quiet area too
Disliked: Breakfast could have been way better and I was charged incidentals even though I was told it wouldn’t come out of my card it did and was 8$ but still

We had other choices but this one was a bad one.
Liked: It was room and had ac. The front desk lady very helpful and nice too, wasnt her fault at all.
Disliked: We had to change our room due to a leaking fridge. Then the only washing machine was out of order, which was the only reason we booked there, we had asked the front desk and she didnt even know it was out of order. To use the shower we had to ask the front desk again and she pulled out a binder with the room numbers and apparently each faucet was different, for our faucet we had to pull and it felt like it could fall out of the wall. Couldnt fill the tub up if you tried because the drain plug was busted. And make sure you check for a shower curtain because our room didnt have one. And finally the toilet seat felt like you could fall through it.We were planning on staying for three nights but all of this put a damper on the mood, and we just left for the baymont next door. Again, Ill reiterate that this wasnt the fault of the front desk lady, apparently they were having a staff shortage, and the Quality was lacking.
