Liked: Brilliant location to explore Buxton. Lovely helpful staff. Nice bright breakfast and bar area.Our bedroom was a little dated, but otherwise ok.Good breakfast. Reasonable price.

A no frills comfortable stay....

Liked: Made to feel very welcome on arrival and on leaving. Great hotelier and hospitality . . Excellent breakfast . Parking around the side of the property . The bed had crisp clean bedding and comfortable . TV and wi-fi worked well .
Disliked: I was happy to stay for one night, but the room was very basic and the decor is very dated . Damp patches on the ceiling and cracks in the walls. The carpet was very dirty - particularly at the edges. It would be worth replacing the bathroom carpet tiles - unfortunately they were stained and the bathroom smelt musty - likely from getting wet from the shower ( shower curtain rather than a screen) . I was not comfortable using the bathroom in bare feet. . Also might be worth adding some blackout linings to the curtains as the curtains are extremely thin so whilst a comfortable night sleep , I did awake early from the sunlight through the window.

Liked: Great building with character and charm. Super idea to pre order breakfast, you got exactly what you ordered. Everything spotless in the hotel,
Disliked: It was a bit too warm at night, but I slept ok

Comfortable & value for money.

Liked: Our room was large and had a bath as well as a shower. Bar, and breakfast room recently refurbished. Comfortable lounge. Very clean. Owner polite and helpful. Breakfast staff greeted us with a smile and were attentive. Nice breakfast.. Close to the lovely Buxton Pavilion, Gardens, restaurants and Theatre.
Disliked: Bedroom and bathroom could do with an update but did not spoil our stay.
