Disappointing - 2 out of 5

Robert T, Gateshead Fri, 14 November 2014

Too expensive for what is a sub par B&B.

Liked: Closest to concert venue I was going to.
Disliked: Small room; smelled; not the cleanest - dust on headboard and dirty finger prints on wall. TV way too high on wall and quite small, so if laying on bed, couldn't see picture. No hairdryer. Only cold breakfast. Expensive.

Basic but does the job....

Liked: The receptionist, who was covering that weekend, went above and beyond to assist with my queries. I had to move rooms due to a heating issue and he was great about it.Also bed was really comfy.
Disliked: Not a dislike - it was a cheap room above a pub in a very old building. I didn?t expect much and was only for 1 night while I had an interview, so it did the job. Just wouldn?t be somewhere you would book for a holiday. I doubt you could get a room much cheaper in London so to me it was a bargain.

You get what you pay...

Liked: Location was very convenient, 30 minute walk to the Euston train station. Food provided in pub downstairs, or a Sainsbury's is only a block or two down the street.
Disliked: Very much getting what you pay for for the low price. Mattress was very rough, stains on the walls and on the carpets, picture had fallen from the wall was stuffed behind the bedside drawers along with someone's necklace so obviously not cleaned, shower was broken and sprayed badly from the wall, covered in lime scale, not able to adjust the temperature, the flush on the toilet was broken, the floor was comically slanted... and if you need to leave at any hour the pub isn't open, you are required to leave and come back through a back entrance which leads into a dark and dirty alley.

Nice pub who looked after...

Liked: Main site was undergoing a deep clean (due to the Covid Pandemic) so was put in an apartment off-site. Very spacious and clean with very comfortable bed.
Disliked: There was some trouble accessing the apartment with wrong door codes supplied but no problems overall.
