Nothing positive as we didn't...

Liked: Nothing! When we arrived after a 12hr hike, exhausted and hungry, the hotel told us they were shut for 6 weeks renovation. We booked this in good faith via Booking.com, we are still waiting for a refund 2 and a half weeks after our supposed stay. The hotel manager Michael Seiger told us we could stay in one of the outside rooms or get a refund from booking.com. There were NO facilities at the hotel and he said there was a pub we could eat at a few miles down the road. We opted to cancel and get a refund. Still waiting for this! Despite several contacts with booking.com we have not been refunded. The hotel phone line is not working.
Disliked: That we were not informed there would be no facilities available at the hotel when we made the booking!

Good

Liked: Very clean & convenient for our purposes.Staff were very nice.
Disliked: The room was quite dark & slightly claustrophobic.Despite the good reviews we'd read prior to booking we found the food to be fairly basic. On the first morning breakfast was table service and very nice, however on the second morning it was buffet style and underwhelming! Staff seemed in short supply but were very helpful though.

Bizarre!!!!!

Liked: The room was well appointed with a lovely view over the countryside and villages. The bathroom was well fitted out.
Disliked: There were no Staff!!!!!!I was met by a lovely man who was renting the main Inn from the owner who only bought the Hotel a couple of week's previously. Apparently the previous owner had not communicated during the handover the upcoming bookings. The nice man had been given details on how to access the rooms should any guests arrive, and let me into one of the rooms. I was then asked to contact a lady to inform her of the room I had been allocated which I did but didn't receive any answer to either my call or text message. The new owner is not off to a very good start!!!!!

1 Night stay

Liked: Comfortable small room with a nice view. Room was clean and good shower. It seemed like it might have been updated fairly recently. Staff (when present) were polite and helpful.
Disliked: Room smelt a bit like someone had smoked in it previously. Service at breakfast was non existent and continental offer very basic. Parts of the property felt a bit tired and not up to standard for the star rating. We expected a lot more given the price, which seems a little high for the customer experience on offer.

Absolute morons

Disliked: Booked the wrong night by mistake. Tried to contact the following day to ask to change to the following night but impossible to speak to anyone. The phone is permanently off the hook and minke messages ignored. There were an abundance of rooms for the following night. Customer service minus 100.

This hotel closed weeks ago...

Disliked: This hotel closed weeks ago and we were not informed. It is listed as a functional hotel with bar, food facilities and it has nothing. The hotel is half abandoned, its false advertising saying it is a hotel and you should not be accepting bookings.

Rude

Liked: Room was reasonable clean and comfortable.
Disliked: Customer service was appalling. I arrived with a clear booking confirmation and was told I didn’t have a reservation. The reception was staffed by children who were busy watching TV. No one was willing to help insisting I call booking.com myself to resolve the issue or I pay again for the room they had spare. Had to spend an hour on the phone in reception when the matter could have easily been resolved by the manager. The staff were abrupt and lacking in people skills. Completely unwelcoming. The room felt unsafe, with a door to the outside without a chain or similar. Location is difficult to get to, with incredibly steep and winding roads.
