Great Hotel with sound covid...

Liked: Not the first time we have stayed here and will stay again. They are operating really well within the current rules and made us feel welcome and safe.

5 day stay reduced to...

Liked: The bedroom and bathroom were excellent with a high standard of cleanliness. Good health and safety standards maintained. They very quickly replaced the faulty light fluorescent tube over the mirror in the bedroom, when reported.
Disliked: We visited the property three weeks prior to our stay as we were in the area and decided to call in for a drink. We were surprised by the attitude of the female receptionist when we mentioned that we would be staying with them in three weeks time (We found her very over efficient and unfriendly). We ordered two drinks (a pint of beer and a glass of milk) and were very shocked by the price of the milk, which was £2.50 for approx. 1/2 pint. When we queried this we were told that there was no button on the till for milk so she pressed the button for orange juice. £5 for a pint of milk is outrageous and would be even for orange juice !! Now for when we stayed at The Marsham Arms:- Although lunch and dinner were being served in the dining room we were told that a continental breakfast would be served in the bedroom due to the Coronavirus - we had originally booked b&b where we were expecting a Full English breakfast and we did not enjoy the selection of items offered as a breakfast delivered in a bag to eat in our room. On our departure at 10.30am, the front and side doors were locked, when we tried to return the bedroom key. We found an unlocked door eventually which was used by the staff only, entered the building and went to reception, but no staff were anywhere to be seen. We called out on a number of occasions as we heard voices in the distance and eventually two ladies came, who took the key and asked us if we had paid our bill. We were asked to pay the bill immediately we arrived, before even seeing the room or being given the key.

Would definitely stay here again....

Friendly staff and nice atmosphere...

Liked: This was the first place I have stayed since the lockdown and the team are doing really well. The staff were very friendly and helpful which made it easier to get used to the social distancing measures. Our dinner was delicious and the gin menu just what we needed after a few hours on the road.
