The Magnuson has seen better...

Liked: I had never visited Tyler, Texas. I was taking my son to visit a satellite college of UT Austin. We booked this on our way. The photographs looked good and sent to her only staying overnight. We did not need a lot of amenities with respect to laundry facilities, fitness room, a restaurant on the premises. What we liked: The gentleman at the front desk was very kind and helpful w/directions.
Disliked: The description and photographs online looked comfortable and geographically, the location worked. We really did not know where the school was so we booked it on our way to Tyler,Texas. Calling the Magnuson grand and a Conference Center is an extreme overstatement. The outside is tired and rundown, and in desperate need of repairs. The room was from decades ago. Walking over to our room and up the outside stairs to the second floor, the steps were cracked and broken. There was garbage overflowing in an outdoor garbage can. The room was very, very small like a motel 8’s or of the 1980’s. There were no blankets on the beds. No hangers to hang a shirt, and the bathroom was so small. It was clean. That’s all I will say. I would never return.

Liked: It was clean and quiet. Met my needs and perfect price. Rented 2 room wished I got a discount but no biggie. Seen a couple shopping carts
Disliked: The grocery cart left from a guest who showed walked it back to store I used it later to push my niece in for a ride…it was fun considering she’s 40 years old lol So we took advantage of the carts
