Needs some Improvements

Liked: The location of the hotel is good, short walk from the sea front. Interaction with the staff was fine, they had a plastic shield up at reception and all the cleaning staff wore masks.
Disliked: We booked originally for Brighton Pride weekend, however due to Covid that was cancelled. Our room was non refundable and amendments not possible (we emailed during the lockdown if we could move the booking to next year they said was not possible). As the hotel was open, we decided to make a weekend of it as opposed to losing the money. The room was pretty basic, a single bed each with a single pillow and one bathroom. The shower was abysmal, the head was not attached to the wall properly so you had to hold it up when showering or it would just dribble against the wall. The room has no air con and the windows do not open very far which is understandable, but even having them open is a catch 22 for little air at night as the seagulls are loud all night and you can hear people on the street. Worst thing for us though was that during the second night at 4:50am a man wandered into our room and switched on the light. Quite a terrifying experience as he was wearing a face mask so unidentifiable and we were a group of girls all asleep. He was obviously in the wrong room and swiftly apologised and walked out. We had noticed the door was quite temperamental so it?s not actually that surprising.

No 24 hour concierge subsequently...

Liked: It had a bed,
Disliked: Dated, room smelt of sewersNo 24 hour concierge subsequently other guest climbing on roof and onto our balcony trying to gain access to hotel between 4-5am in the morning. Whilst we appreciate it?s not the hotels fault if the concierge had been there it would not of happened. When we left hotel the main entrance door key could not be found (missing concierge!!?!?) so had to leave by rear entrance. We reported to hotel staff but seemed distracted and not interested , one of them picked up the telephone call during our conversation.
