Tired rooms , cold
Liked: Location excellent
Disliked: Not clean at all , tired cold rooms for the price you pay and hotel star rating impression the internet gives you of the place is that it?s luxurious ??? , it?s like no one cares , even the staff seem apathetic

Central, quirky hotel ****
Liked: The hotel itself is situated in the heart of the city, great for exploring beautiful York. The room was set downstairs with exposed beams, stylish and nice touches such as comfortable armchairs. We loved the nespresso coffee machine and Molton Brown toiletries. Overall, fantastic!
Disliked: Due to covid, the bar was not open but not a fault of the hotel!

Liked: Incredible location - tucked away right on the high street but without the noise. Gorgeous room, huge bed and really nice staff. Also a very easy check out process due to Covid, just leave your room card in a box with a staff member present. Honestly a great stay and would recommend.

Liked: The location is great but the view from the windows is a huge brick wall. Quiet though.
Disliked: The room was freezing as we arrived (December) as windows had been left open (covid rules) but this meant it took 3.5 hours to warm up again. The pillows were very lumpy and uncomfortable. For £156 for 1 night the room was extremely basic and not luxury as expected. Had it been £80 per night that would have sufficed as the hotel had no bar or communal areas and also no breakfast. Paper cups provided for coffee and tea.
