Exceptional

Liked: Great Hotel. Jan is very nice. She even ran my daughters water bottle out as we were driving away. I could easily stay here a week or more. Walking distance to up and coming areas in Lewiston.

It was just fine. Served...

Liked: This is a charming historic house. The manager provides sherry served in the beautiful living room before dinner. They do not serve breakfast on site, but they give you a coupon for breakfast at the most popular breakfast places a short distance away. My only complaint is that it had turned cold at night and they did not turn on the heat. I was comfortable in my quilt-laden bed, but it was too cold in the bathroom to take a shower...at least too cold for me. Otherwise, no complaints
Disliked: A little heat. The did have a space heater in the bedroom, but the bathroom was uncomfortably cold.

Lovely Inn with great charm.

Liked: The hostess was delightful, the Inn lovely. We own an antique Cape built in 1835 and staying here felt like home! The sherry and fudge was a nice touch as were the chocolates on the bed pillows.
Disliked: A light breakfast: bagels, muffins, would have been a welcomed treat before our 4 1/2 hour ride home. A voucher for $5 off a breakfast at a local dinner is offered but a light breakfast would have been perfect.

Seemed expensive for the neighborhood...

Liked: The Innkeeper was was very nice, friendly, helpful and she gave us $5.00 off coupons for breakfast at Forage Cafe about 3 blocks away. Fabulous breakfast. The Inn is located across the street from an historical park with trees. Chocolates on the bed pillow each evening, free coffee 24/7. Town seems to be making a comeback after losing the old mills. Enjoyed the DaVinci's Restaurant and walk along the riverfront.
Disliked: As we drove into town to visit with family, we became very worried about the multi-cultural neighborhood and refugees hanging out all around the Inn. The park across the street seemed relatively "safe". We had a room at the end of the second floor with steep steps; the shower in the tub took a little getting used to, but it was very clean. Room temperature varied and the double bed was not what we were used to, so we used a second smaller room single bed. Very small rooms.
