Hyatt Place Charlotte Airport/Lake Pointe, Charlotte

Overall a great place to stay. Close to downtown Charlotte and easy to find.

Liked: Clean room and very comfortable.
Disliked: Hot breakfast was warm, not hot. Disappointing.

Ok for an overnight before...

Liked: Location to airport was great and we were able to park our car for the week while we traveled there. Room was clean and comfy.
Disliked: Under a renovation. Felt a bit like walking into a construction site.

Disliked: The hotel was under construction so there was some mess associated with that.

Handled our needs well, with...

Liked: Required airport shuttle, two beds, breakfast and meal availability given arrival hours. All of these were satisfied, though the meal part in a rather basic way. Staff was helpful, pleasant and easy to work with. We stayed twice, at the start and end of our trip (flights from and back to Charlotte, with train ride from home day before departure and day after return), and found the location and services worked quite well for us.
Disliked: Not so much ‘didn’t like’, and there was a warning that not everything would be available because of work going on at the hotel, but there was definitely work going on - one of the elevators was ‘bare’, etc. The food options were limited as a result, too. But the results in the rooms were nice. No real issues.

Great option at a reasonable...

Liked: Airport shuttle and breakfast was included. Suite was spacious and a pullout sofa is standard.
Disliked: Under renovations, ice machine out of order on many floors, no complimentary waters provided, breakfast closes earlier on weekdays. No microwaves in rooms.

I started writing this review...

Liked: Location, parking, and shuttle to airport were great. Breakfast was decent. Nothing out of ordinary but easy and plentiful. Bed was comfy. Our family of 4 never stays in 1 hotel room but we decided that since it was 1 short night we’d suck it up…we were pleasantly surprised by the space and plenty of towels. Good spot for going to the airport and pretty close to downtown Charlotte.
Disliked: The hotel is under renovations. Once done it will be back to typical Hyatt Place standards. But it’s a little disheveled. And our room had a musty odor. Looks like they are in the home stretch though.

The Hotel was Under Renovation...

Liked: I've stayed here in the past. It's location is near places of business, restaurants and the airport.
Disliked: The hotel is under construction/ renovation. I've been in commercial construction for 30yrs in major projects. As you walked in the Lobby blueprints and construction items were in plain sight verses using one of the rooms as a construction office as normal. The food service area for breakfast was under renovation and unusable to normal. The pool was CLOSED as well because the contractor placed construction trailers and materials near the pool vs the rear of the lot. The elevators were dirty and a disaster as workers used them to move materials vs the stairs. Rather that work per floor sequentially starting from the Top floors to Bottom (completely finished the work renovation and sealed off from guests) construction was anywhere and noise was intolerable. Really poor project management.
