Very Good - 4.0 out of 5

This hotel is awesome. I've actually stayed here before but didn't realize how close it was to my venue. I love how the ConcertHotels website tells you how far everything is and walking times - not just miles like the others do. The Hudson hotel is a boutique style hotel that has different unique bars and a beautiful roof top garden and tequila bar. It is clean and convenient and fairly priced for the city! Contrary to some of the other reviews I love the entrance with its yellow glowing escalators as the only light to the lobby - to me that is inviting, and the dark wood throughout isn't dark and gloomy - it's beautiful! If you want blinding lights and glass try Times Square. This hotel is everything it says it is and that's refreshing for a change!

Liked: Easy check in and out with plenty of staff so barely a wait compared to what you can experience in the city.
Disliked: OK as everyone said, yes the rooms are small but you can upgrade to a larger one and the square feet is given next to the room types so they are not hiding anything.

The entrance to the hotel is not inviting - dark and gloomy. There is no uniform dress so it's difficult to determine bell captains from pedestrians. Rooms are much too small, especially considering the price - no amenities - no room service, no restaurant, not even coffee setup for room. The only restaurant available only served breakfast and limited to a Continental breakfast. The hallways are dark and ugly - the rooms are clean and simply but effectively decorated. The outlet in the bathroom, instead of being located by the sink/mirror area, was located on a back wall.

Liked: Rooms are clean; valet parking; conveniently located.
Disliked: Depressingly dark lobby; small rooms; no room service; no hotel restaurant.

Disappointing - 2.1 out of 5

Anna Thu, 18 May 2017

Disliked: I had to spend two night without a pillow (folded blanket that felt more like a brick) because the property did not have feather free pillows available. The person at the reception was trying to convince me that " the feathers are inside the pillow case and are not sticking out, so i should be OK with my feather allergy"

Liked: Cleaning Team was GREAT! The Reception Team was Adorable! Sadly neither the RoofTop nor the Terrace was open during my stay.
Disliked: rooms are tiny, shower, WC is for veeeery tiny people, the breakfast was very poor, and 2 glasses of wine for USD 50 is not fair :D

Liked: Reception and bar designs good and comfy to relax in. Great location, Central Park couple of minutes walk and Times Square only about 10-15 minute walk.
Disliked: Rooms extreemly small for what you pay, even for a city hotel. We decided to pay the extra to upgrade to 3/4th on list but still smaller than average hotel.

Liked: Location. Staff were mostly ok.
Disliked: The worst aspect of the hotel is how dull and dark it is. The rooms were cleaned daily but were not very well detailed. The breakfast was very poor and was too expensive for what was offered. The pictures on the website are misleading and the lighting very false. I will not recommend this hotel to anyone no matter what the price is.

Liked: The location near Columbus Circle/Central Park/Subway is fantastic. Lots to see and do within easy walking distance. The staff we dealt with were friendly , helpful and courteous. The free wifi was good, the post checkout storage of luggage very useful. The room is small as per the site photos - just enough to walk around the sides of the bed, but we only slept there - we didn't book it so we could throw a party. The bathroom is small, however the shower is the full width of the bathroom and is generous, easily could fit 2 or 3 people! Very tall people might find their knees up around their chins when sitting on the toilet. The distance to the wall in front is just slightly more than cattle class in an airplane. The small bathroom did not bother us, the room and bathroom were clean, the bed comfortable and we were very happy with the location and the service. The hotel appears to be popular as there were people coming and going whenever we passed through the foyer. The main bar was pumping with lots of people on each night we were there.

Liked: Spectacular looking lobby..................and this style kept on through the three 'social' areas: Common room, Billiards room and nightclub.
Disliked: Very disappointed that I had no access to the outside social areas due to construction: behind the front desk and the 15th floor viewing area. Also disappointed that the window blinds in the south facing window (9th Ave) in room 1746 were missing the drawstring to raise them completely up. I could shut and open the louvers
