This hotel is awesome. I've actually stayed here before but didn't realize how close it was to my venue. I love how the ConcertHotels website tells you how far everything is and walking times - not just miles like the others do. The Hudson hotel is a boutique style hotel that has different unique bars and a beautiful roof top garden and tequila bar. It is clean and convenient and fairly priced for the city! Contrary to some of the other reviews I love the entrance with its yellow glowing escalators as the only light to the lobby - to me that is inviting, and the dark wood throughout isn't dark and gloomy - it's beautiful! If you want blinding lights and glass try Times Square. This hotel is everything it says it is and that's refreshing for a change!

Liked: Easy check in and out with plenty of staff so barely a wait compared to what you can experience in the city.
Disliked: OK as everyone said, yes the rooms are small but you can upgrade to a larger one and the square feet is given next to the room types so they are not hiding anything.

Pleasant - 3.0 out of 5

Diana, Pound Ridge, NY Mon, 27 August 2012

The entrance to the hotel is not inviting - dark and gloomy. There is no uniform dress so it's difficult to determine bell captains from pedestrians. Rooms are much too small, especially considering the price - no amenities - no room service, no restaurant, not even coffee setup for room. The only restaurant available only served breakfast and limited to a Continental breakfast. The hallways are dark and ugly - the rooms are clean and simply but effectively decorated. The outlet in the bathroom, instead of being located by the sink/mirror area, was located on a back wall.

Liked: Rooms are clean; valet parking; conveniently located.
Disliked: Depressingly dark lobby; small rooms; no room service; no hotel restaurant.

Loved New York location of...

Liked: The location of the hotel is fantastic for a short visit to New York. The rooms were small but as we were only in them for a short amount of time they served there purpose. When checking in the staff were very friendly and accommodating not so good when checking out.
Disliked: The library bar was very nice but the cocktails were the worst I have ever had and probably the most expensive I have ever had. When the final bill arrived I ended up paying more than I had expected as the price quoted and paid for through Booking .Com was not enough to cover the bill. Suspect that this was a way for the hotel to make more money the check out staff could not care less. On our final night the water went off so were unable to wash prior to leaving the hotel for our flight home

Go there, but make sure...

Liked: The lobby and general facilities were beautiful, the rooms were small, but in NY, that's to be expected. The location was amazing. Just a block from Central Park and a short walk to Times Square.
Disliked: We didn't have water and no one told us. When I woke in the middle of the night and there was no water, I was worried and had a hard time getting back to sleep. Turns out, this was for maintenance, but we should have been told.

Great location but probably wouldn?t...

Liked: The location is perfect and the staff are really friendly and helpful
Disliked: The room wasn?t very clean - the towels had black marks on them, found a toenail in the room, the size of the room was really small

Poor - 1.5 out of 5

Poor

Disliked: This hotel has not been updated in a long time. There is no doorman to greet you and help you with the door or your bags when you arrive - which is odd because their double door entrance create a wind tunnel and makes it difficult to open with luggage. There are all sorts of staff and unsavory characters smoking outside the entrance. Inside, the hallways are dark, dirty and smell like a hostel. The rooms are very small, the bathroom dingy (the grout in the tiles was very dirty) - I wish I would have brought flip flops to use in the shower. The garbage can was the tiniest of buckets I've ever seen. The wiring from the mounted television was hanging down. There are no room amenities: no minibar and the toiletries are a joke. The only reason I didn't leave was because it was a one-night stay and the bed linens appeared to be clean.

Not the greatest but also...

Liked: The Unami restaurant was good.
Disliked: Bathroom was so small. So much noise at night and tried to bring it up to front desk if we could be moved and they said they had no more rooms- but they were still open on their site for rooms to sell.
