Sweet old hotel. Great staff. Clean and very quaint. Right downtown, close to shopping. Our first time in St. Helena.

Staff makes you feel welcome. Charming, old time feel. There are no bells and whistles, however, it's very relaxing, no hustle and bustle. And best of all, no minimum stay required, even on the weekend.
Liked: Nice staff. No minimum stay.

Liked: It was in middle of town, walking distance to all shops and restaurants
Disliked: You open the door and walk right into the bed and that was it. Room so small you can?t move around in it. Front desk staff super nice. Location right in downtown. But room could be much bigger for the expensive price. Won?t stay here again.felt like i was staying in a room at someone?s house. The bathroom door hit into the toilet. Lol doesn?t serve any breakfast.

Liked: It had it's charm to it
Disliked: We had no AC and no Wifi. After calling down to get the password the front desk said they couldn't hear us on the hotel phone. The shower was very interesting because the curtain didn't really close all the way. It hadn't been updated in decades and was a pretty penny for one night. Well over $300 so we could have our own bathroom. Otherwise for $60 less you got to share a bathroom with the other rooms. Very European

Liked: I?ve never stayed in such an unclean hotel in my life. I paid above $400 and there was a half drank bottle of red wine under the sink, the glasses by the sink were filthy, the bed sheets had not been washed. Awful experience!

Had a great time!
Liked: Comfortable bed, cool a/c (very important), nice shower, capacious lounge upstairs and downstairs, delicious breakfast Saturday morning (I stayed Thursday and Friday), nice location, convenient parking, and yes, I would stay again.
Disliked: There was nothing I didn't like, but I would suggest mounting the TV on the blank wall above a small dresser to free up a small table (with a small lamp added) for the bedside toward the window so that bedtime reading would be more comfortable. In the bathroom, the sink was missing any kind of a strainer or plug, so I was always afraid of knocking something small down the hole. And if I were there longer and wanted to wash out any clothing that wouldn't have been possible.

Over priced for small room...
Disliked: They don?t serve breakfast

Liked: Centrally located with parking
Disliked: I could barely walk into the room because the bed was approximately 18? from the wall. As a result, there was no space to open my suitcase on the luggage rack (which I squeezed between the bed and the wall). I finally put my suitcase in the hallway to unpack. I thought. Because there is no closet and only 3 hangers in which to place your clothes on the back of the door. The sheets and bedspread were wrinkled and I wondered if they even changed them (worn and cheap quality) from the previous guests. The hotel looks empty (no surprise) except that you would think there would be staff at the front desk. Barely. As a result, you find your key (and others) under the front door mat (outside) when you check in. No elevator and all the rooms are on the second floor. I spoke with other guests and the room prices were all over the place from around $200 to $650 for the same room. Unbelievable! Plus the website pictures are NOT an accurate representation of the rooms or public spaces. The bar offering wine and champagne is a ghost town (not open) and you would be better suited trying all the normal, wonderful places in town. You wouldn?t want to stay here for free. Disturbing hotel environment. Not a great place for your restful, wine country experience. You would be better off staying in downtown Napa, American Canyon or even Santa Rosa (30 minutes over the hill to Napa Valley) if you need a reasonably priced hotel that is normal and comfortable.

Comfortable, but overpriced like all...
Liked: Breakfast was simple and easy to self serve. The stay was very comfortable and had everything you need for a standard hotel stay. Check in was easy and when you arrive, the hotel has a very vintage feel. No elevator was not a problem for us, and it was fun using a hard key instead of a key card like all other hotels.
Disliked: Parking wasn't obvious since the all the spaces were taken behind the building so I had to park in the public lot that had time constraints. The wifi wasn't given to me, but I'm not sure I would have needed it if it had been. I do think that the area as a whole is overpriced for what you get, but so I can't say that this hotel was poor in value compared to the ones around it, but it is compared to any place outside of Napa Valley.

Terrific! I?d go again no...
Liked: Bed was comfy; slept well; shower was GREAT!
After a very long ride, Mary greeted me cheerfully in a way that made me feel as if I was welcome in her own home. She went out of her way when I checked out to offer me coffee and breakfast treats & even suggested I take something for my lunch at the workshop she remembered I was attending. Her recommendation for dinner was outstanding and I was so happy I went to Cook Restaurant right across the street! An all round exceptional night out!
Disliked: Nothing. I even enjoyed the thunder rain & lightening!!!
