Poor - 1 out of 5

John, Knoxville, visiting The Cutting Room New York Mon, 21 January 2019

Thumbs down. Only good thing was the location to the show we attended. Besides the things mentioned above under what was bad, the bottom drawer in the dresser under the TV was broken.

Liked: The location; the bell captains were friendly and helpful.
Disliked: The bedspread smelled like it was sprayed with perfume - overwhelming! The bathroom drain was clogged! We were never able to get WiFi. No washcloths. Long waiting lines to check in and check out at prime times.

Very Good - 4 out of 5

Patricia, Washington, visiting Stephan Weiss Studio Wed, 10 April 2013

Arriving with raised eyebrows based on a few bad reviews for this hotel, I was pleasantly surprised to find it had a prime location, increasing the accessibility of my planned visit sites, as well as aged but a clean lined format in the room provided. The front desk service was excellent, as was the proximity of restaurants, sites, and shopping near the hotel. Despite some of the warnings posted on the internet reviews, I did not feel unsafe or threatened (as a single woman traveling alone) in this property. While this is not necessarily a luxury property, I will certainly return again and again during my quick trips to NYC, and recommend its cleanliness, comfort, and convenient location to all who visit the city.

Liked: Front desk clerk; cleanliness; location.

Very poor

Liked: nothing
Disliked: The room smelled dirty. Breakfast must be taken in a room outside the hotel and with the "breakfast card? provided by the hotel, you can access to a glass of chopped fruit, a bread and one liquid (coffee or juice). Also the staff is not friendly and you need to make long lines for check-in, check-out, and to unblock the room card. The hotel reserves 100 USD for any extra cost. The fridge has fungus on the outside of the door. To leave the luggage you need to pay 5 USD per bag.

Liked: Location was great
Disliked: Hotel is very old and outdated, the old Hotel was probably once very grand but it is in poor condition now. Staff (Carol) was very rude and abrupt! It took 45 minutes to check in, and everything was already booked through booking.comI was told the booking confirmation number meant nothing to her and she charged my card(pending) the whole amount again at the check in desk. Also rooms were booked together, and she checked them In, individually taking a seperate deposit for each. And we were put on seperate floors after she asked if we wanted to be together

Pleasant - 3.1 out of 5

Blcheshire Sat, 25 May 2019

Liked: Central location
Disliked: Absolutely no facilities. No restaurant, no bar, huge queues perpetually at check in. My key stopped working so I had to queue for another 20 minutes to get it reprogrammed. Poor breakfast in a scruffy cafe up the street where it was almost impossible to get a seat at busy periods. I will definitely not use this hotel again
