Thumbs down. Only good thing was the location to the show we attended. Besides the things mentioned above under what was bad, the bottom drawer in the dresser under the TV was broken.
Liked: The location; the bell captains were friendly and helpful.
Disliked: The bedspread smelled like it was sprayed with perfume - overwhelming! The bathroom drain was clogged! We were never able to get WiFi. No washcloths. Long waiting lines to check in and check out at prime times.

Arriving with raised eyebrows based on a few bad reviews for this hotel, I was pleasantly surprised to find it had a prime location, increasing the accessibility of my planned visit sites, as well as aged but a clean lined format in the room provided. The front desk service was excellent, as was the proximity of restaurants, sites, and shopping near the hotel. Despite some of the warnings posted on the internet reviews, I did not feel unsafe or threatened (as a single woman traveling alone) in this property. While this is not necessarily a luxury property, I will certainly return again and again during my quick trips to NYC, and recommend its cleanliness, comfort, and convenient location to all who visit the city.
Liked: Front desk clerk; cleanliness; location.

Liked: Staff was rude and not helpful at all. I had ti check in after being hospitalized in hospital not far away and couldnt stand for long in the long queue at reception but was told to wait. Absolutely terrible customer service all the way through. So dissapointed that i would never ever use the hotel again nor recomend to anybody

Liked: Nice hotel very close to Times Square and Madison Square, check in was kinda long and the bathroom could've been cleaner, but it's definitely a good deal. The staff was nice, I just wish I hadn't had to wait in line in order to talk to someone everytime I needed assistance. The hotel is also kinda old, which I loved.

Great location , no bang...
Liked: The so call breakfast is located a block away.
The setup is more like a school cafeteria.
You line up on a long line for a very limited food selection: 1 beverage a bagel , roll ,or pastry.
Second selection consist of a fruit salad and a bottle of water.
Disliked: The check in could have been quicker. The newly renovated room could have been done with imagination and quality.
