Arriving with raised eyebrows based on a few bad reviews for this hotel, I was pleasantly surprised to find it had a prime location, increasing the accessibility of my planned visit sites, as well as aged but a clean lined format in the room provided. The front desk service was excellent, as was the proximity of restaurants, sites, and shopping near the hotel. Despite some of the warnings posted on the internet reviews, I did not feel unsafe or threatened (as a single woman traveling alone) in this property. While this is not necessarily a luxury property, I will certainly return again and again during my quick trips to NYC, and recommend its cleanliness, comfort, and convenient location to all who visit the city.
Liked: Front desk clerk; cleanliness; location.

Disliked: The room was not clean at all and the staff was unfriendly. The only thing that was good was the location

Liked: Location was the only good thing
Disliked: We had two rooms one was full of mould on the ceiling, the doors were so dirty, the bathes were cracked and the enamel peeling off, the light shades and bed heads were covered in dust. When we told receptionist she said I know we had kids and wouldn?t recommend this hotel to anyone air conditioner so rusty I have The ceiling picture in the lobby box just so you can see and the lamp

Liked: Location is OK, but nothing else is. I would try to convince everyone stay away from this hotel.
Disliked: - Our room was dirty, shockingly dirty, we've never been to a hotel which was so broke - Bedlinen yellowish, full of holes - Furniture is at least 50 years old - Carpets are worn out and dirty - Bathroom was stinky - The toilet was cleaned once (!) during our 10 day stay - They forgot to give us towels one day - In the bathroom, you cannot control shower pressure, only temperature, in the evening it takes quite some time to get hot water running - Windows were so dirty, you hardly could see if the sun rose or not - Had to stand in a line for 40+ minutes to check in - they have these kiosk machines in the lobby, we tried them first for "express check-in", but none of them accepted any of our credit cards (we tried three), so we had to wait in the line - Breakfast is like at a homeless shelter: you need to wait in a line, they exchange your breakfast coupons for another set of red coupons, then you'll need to stand in another line for the actual breakfast. This doesn't make any sense. Don't fall for the breakfast photos, they are a lie, they give you either a small orange juice or a bottle of water, and you can choose a doughnut or a piece of fruit. That's it, for 7 dollars. Nonsense. For a man my size, an apple and a bottle of water is nothing for breakfast. - Staff doesn't speak English - They did not recognise my name for the room when checking out, even though I spelled my name, the lady said it's not correct for the room. Then I showed my passport and voila, it indeed was correct... - If you check out but want to leave your luggage there because your flight is in the afternoon, they charge an extra 5 dollars for every bag (this is free everywhere in Europe), and the guys at the storage room expect a tip - Walking down the corridor is like a scene from American Horror Story, you know, the one where you'd expect Lady Gaga to jump out of a dark corner and suck off all your blood

Liked: The only thing to like about this hotel is it's potential. It needs a complete over haul of rooms. The location is perfect but that is all I can say about this hotel.
Disliked: The staff can be nicer when checking in. It felt more like mass transit then checking in. I was given a key to an occupied room. The second key I went to my room where light was on in bathroom. Sink was broke, mold in ceiling, dirty carpet, dirty bathtub, walls were dirty. Extremely drab decorum. lobby, rooms, hallways and other facilities need total upgrade. This hotel has so much potential that needs to be met.

Great location, nothing wrong with...
Liked: Hotel was good, rooms were on floor 16, yes they were dated, but beds comfortable and clean, bathroom towels changed daily and rooms cleaned daily. Check in /out was ok, did not have the breakfast. Hotel is large so always busy, but plenty of lifts and staff so overall good place to stay. Would stay at this hotel again, location excellent.
Disliked: Nothing, after reading various reviews we nearly cancelled and booked another hotel, pleased we didn't as hotel fine. Yes it is dated but acceptable.

Very old neglected yet very...
Liked: Location is fantastic
Disliked: They first put us in a room on the 10th floor there was a large patch of mould on the celing and a dirty face cloth on the floor when we got there. I rang reception and they changes the room to one on the 13th floor that was so much better and far cleaner!
