Avoid at all costs!

Disliked: Firstly, we were informed with very little notice that our booking had been moved to the sister hotel Hotel Fifth Avenue with no explanation. Having booked this property nearly a year in advance this little notice gave us no choice but to take this booking in the sister property. When we arrived at the other hotel we were extremely disappointed. We were promised an upgraded room as a result of the hotel change which was not upheld and the problems only began there. On our first night, upon returning around 9pm to our room we discovered our keycards had been disabled and we were locked out of our prepaid (downgraded) room. When we inquired at reception as to why we were unable to access our room we were greeted by a very rude male staff member who insisted that we step away from his desk. He then informed us that the cleaning staff had requested we were locked out of our room as a result of a stain on the bedsheets. When we disputed the unsafe measures taken with accusation, he simply handed us a card to contact his manager. Upon contacting his manager, Kucuk Bag we were met with a similarly disappointing and dismissive response. He told us he would investigate it and inform us of his findings which he did not do. As three female travellers, we felt intimidated by the staff and unsafe in our surroundings, we felt from that point on we could not let anyone enter our room for fear of more false accusations and ridiculous consequences. As a results of this mess, the hotel took a $50 dollar deposit from us due to what cleaners deemed to be a stain on the sheet. I will never stay with the Rebel Hotel group again, for fear of a similar situation occurring.

Exceptional
Liked: The staff were excellent. Thr room clean. The room comfortable.
Disliked: The room was very small . I asked for the room to be cleaned every day but it was not. I like a room to be cleaned every day when I am in a hotel as I am on holiday and do not want to come back after a day out to find the beds are not made, there are no clean towels, the bathroom has not been cleaned and the coffee cups etc are not replaced and I have to go and ask for new ones. I pay to stay in a hotel and assume the rooms will be cleaned every day.

Nice Hotel
Liked: My original booking was for Hotel Mela but a few months before my trip they advised my booking was being moved to The Hotel at Fifth Avenue. The location was great, staff were lovely and the room was nice. Cleaned every day.
Disliked: WiFi wasn't amazing, it kept dipping but I wasn't in NYC to sit on my phone so it didn't bother me.

Liked: we were transferred to “The hotel at fifth avenue” since they were closed, but definitely the hotel was not the same level as what we booked. very disappointing.
