If you like the old...
Liked: The staff was friendly and allowed me to cancel my room due to the convid virus despite being in the room for several hours.
Disliked: I opted for a single double bed room, the issues I have with the place are 1) Very old feeling, very small room and small bathroom 2) The room I had was not pictured on the website 3) Lack of dinning area, breakfast looked like a muffin and yogurt 4) Noise travels, you pretty much can hear everything 5) My window had plastic wrap on it, not sure why

It was the perfect room...
Disliked: The room had the heating on at an extremely high level and we were unable to regulate it which made it difficult to sleep.

Acceptable budget stay for a...
Liked: Personnel was very friendly through our stay.
Disliked: There is no elevator, which can make bringing big bags to the third or fourth floor quite hard. Furthermore, originally we had booked this hotel because it included continental breakfast. Then, a couple of weeks before our arrival, it was changed to a "take away breakfast", which meant that they had fruit, muffins, coffee, and juices. You couldn't even eat it there, you had to bring it to your room or eat it while walking.

Liked: Booking and Check In/Out was very easy. Staff members were nice and always available and helpful. LOTS of stairs and no elevator but it was mentioned and made clear during the booking process (Booking.com). Had great character...very old and vintage like feeling and look to it with some modern updates. Our room (S.W.S) was overall great considering the mix of old/new. We were content and impressed. Breakfast was inclusive but menu was changed from the time of booking to our stay, initially a buffet was offered, but was since changed to a "Grab & Go". Was basic but convenient and well stocked, easy to access. Lounge was small and simple. Overall property was quaint and cozy. Our suite was huge. Considered a Family Suite it included two King beds and 1 Child's bed, 2 full bathrooms plus a seperate Jacuzzi & Shower, office room, 2 big TV's, lots of different lighting, a loft area, furnished kitchen. Very open concept and LOTS of space, I could tell there were many modern updates but still kept its very vintage look and feeling. Location was ok...at the most a short cab ride to many attractions such as Old Montreal, Various Metro's, Stores/Restaurants, St-Catherines/St-Denis Ect... Thai Restaurant and I think Bar located inside the building open at 5:30...we did not use this service so cannot comment on quality of food and service. Menu seemed typical and simple.
Disliked: A few minor things. Inclusive breakfast was at the time of booking described as buffet style, a few weeks after booking I received an email advising breakfast was changing to a Grab & Go which was exactly what it was when it came time for our stay. It was displayed at the reception and consisted of a mini fridge full of various beverages, dry cereal cups, small basket of fruit, muffins and coffee. No actual seating area as its intentions are Grab & Go. Our kitchen had dishes but no forks/spoons. Cracks in the very high ceilings leaked as it rained we put a pot to catch the drips but still resulted in a huge wet spot. There was no switch to be found anywhere for the jets in the jacuzzi. Mattresses VERY firm and uncomfortable. There was a door to a balcony but could not get out, appeared locked from outside. The lounge was very small, it says books and board games but these are limited to 2 games (1 was monopoly) and maybe 6 books. Ice machine was old/vintage and seemed to be functioning but had no ice. We did not complain or report about any of these things though because it did not really effect our stay and overall these things appeared minor to our overall experience. Ultimately, we could have called down to inquire and likely would have received assistance or apologies I'm sure. The overall property is old and vintagy but there are obvious modern updates and comforts being added.
