The Spotlight on Holiday Lodge

Affordable Comfort Steps from Downtown LA’s Biggest Stages

Modern and no-frills, Holiday Lodge is a great pick for concert-goers looking to stay close to the action without breaking the bank. Situated in Downtown Los Angeles, just over a mile from major venues like the Staples Center and Microsoft Theater, this straightforward hotel offers the essentials: clean, air-conditioned rooms, free WiFi, and complimentary private parking—a true perk in LA.

Why Concert-goers love it

With both the Staples Center and Microsoft Theater just 1.2 miles away, you can walk or catch a quick ride to the show and be back in your room in no time. Guests appreciate the 24-hour front desk for late-night check-ins after encore performances. The hotel is set back enough to offer a quieter environment, which makes it a solid spot to wind down after a loud night out. Plus, free parking makes it super convenient for those driving in from nearby cities.

Who this Hotel is great for

Groups of friends heading to a show together will love the budget-friendly price point. Solo travelers catching a must-see artist will appreciate the easy check-in and central location. Couples can make a low-key weekend of it, and fans who need a quiet, affordable place to crash after the concert will find this stay fits the bill. It's also great for budget-conscious music lovers who want to be close to the action without paying downtown luxury prices.

Food and Drink Options

While Holiday Lodge doesn’t have an on-site restaurant, you’re within walking or Ubering distance of plenty of late-night diners, taco joints, and 24-hour eats scattered throughout Downtown LA. There’s no on-site breakfast, but nearby cafés and fast-food options open early enough to satisfy post-concert cravings.

Nightlife Options

With the heart of LA nightlife just minutes away, it’s easy to keep the night going after the show. You’ll find trendy bars, lounges, and live music venues nearby in the Arts District, Koreatown, or the Historic Core. The hotel itself is quiet, so it works well as a base for recharging between nights out.

What People Say

Reviewers on Booking.com and TripAdvisor praise the excellent location, especially for attending events downtown. Guests also appreciate the free parking—a rarity in the area—and the basic but clean and comfortable rooms. Many say it's a great value for anyone planning to spend more time out exploring than in their room.

Areas for Improvement

The hotel is older and a bit dated in terms of decor. Some guests note that amenities are minimal, and there’s no on-site dining or fitness center. Still, most agree that what it lacks in frills, it makes up for in price and location.

The Bottom Line

If you're heading to a show in Downtown LA and want a clean, affordable place to crash nearby, Holiday Lodge hits all the right notes.

Basic needs were met.

Liked: Firm mattress, several sizes of pillows. Rooms seemed very clean. Courteous office staff.
Disliked: Coffee maker had to be put on the floor to . reach the outlet. Only one chair, nightstand, and lamp. Nothing to put luggage on. Balcony divider left enough space for slim person to slip under to enter room. Only one lock on door so could not lock from inside room. Sliding glass door drapes did not reach floor so did not block bright lights outside. Building seems to be crumbling, likely unsafe in earthquake. Sloppy paint job inside. Framing around room next to our is not complete.

Bad Liars

Disliked: I've been coming here for over a decade and I left my HP All in One Touchscreen Desktop in the room by mistake when I checked out at 4am. I called to ask if they still had it in the morning the gentleman said yes.. Housekeeping had in laundry room come after 10am to get and I did. They said they did not have it. It's funny because they have a million cameras there they know who stole it

Worst Hotel Experience – Do...

Liked: Price
Disliked: This was by far the worst hotel stay I’ve ever had.•My Blake Snell bobblehead was stolen from my room. I reported it to the front desk and was told they didn’t know anything and that maybe I left the door open. All my other belongings were untouched — only that item went missing. Highly suspicious.•I asked to change rooms due to the situation, and they said there were no rooms available. That was clearly a lie — they just didn’t want to help.•I found an open condom box under the bed, and the bed was broken on one side, with the springs completely collapsed.•Worst of all, I even found blood stains in the room. Absolutely disgusting.I didn’t expect a luxury experience, but this was completely unacceptable. If you’re looking for the worst experience possible, this is it.
