Worst Quality Inn Experience
Liked: Breakfast was good.
Disliked: My elderly mother, daughter, and I stayed one night (Friday, April 12, 2024) to attend an open house at Delhi University. We drove 3 hours from NYC and were exhausted arriving at 10:30 pm. We were given room 166, deep on the other end of the hotel's first floor (even though reservations were made 2 months in advance). Upon entering the room, realized all appliances were unplugged. Turned to the back of the TV to reach for the cord - encountered so much dust accumulated behind the TV. Called the front desk, and the receptionist just mentioned the room was cleaned (did not offer to move us to a different room). We were so exhausted that we decided to remain in the room. When we settled to go to sleep, the air conditioner automatically turned on, making the odor from the carpet (either dog odor or from just being dirty) linger. The bad odor and dust were overwhelmingly strong that we had a hard time falling asleep. I tried to bury my face on the pillow, which that too, smelled as if it had been previously slept on. Lastly, the toilet lever had to be held down, or the toilet would not flush. At checked out, I attempted to make the receptionist aware of these incidents - she just mentioned she would talk to the manager.

Exceptional
Liked: This location was perfect because it was close to shopping, restaurants, the quaint downtown just across the bridge, and the college area just up the hill. The staff was fantastic, accommodating, and friendly!

Good
Liked: Our room was very nice and clean. Especially the carpet which is very much appreciated for our Great Pyrenees. We can tell how she inspects a room as to how clean it really is. If she's comfortable, then we are. People who travel with pets gets this. There was a nice large green space for potty walks. Food places relatively close as well as other shops. Very quiet rooms.
Disliked: I didn't care for the 6 am wake up call I did not request. I actually selected this particular property because they advertised an on-site restaurant which they neglected to mention is no longer in service. It's a surprising large hotel and it was a very long walk to get the very minimal hot breakfast offered. We've had much more substantial breakfasts offered for way less expensive rooms.

Our time at hotel was...
Liked: quiet, clean, kind of retro
Disliked: The typical breakfast was included but it was rather limited. we were there 2 mornings. it was exactly the same. After breakfast 2nd morning we wanted to relax an hour before check out and long ride home. Housekeeping had already entered our room and stripped beds. we had not checked out yet!

Close to Oneonta, stores and...
Liked: The hotel is in a a great location. It is close to Oneonta College and many stores and downtown. The breakfast is very good we always enjoy it, especially when grabbing a quick meal and it's free. Staff are very friendly.
Disliked: I think it needs to be updated. The shower needs new caulking and moving body soap into the shower would be better. The mattress is too soft for me but others may like that. I think it just needs updating but over clean and a good price
