More than expected
Liked: We came in late from our wedding and check in was quick and easy. We were given a complimentary upgrade, which we truly appreciated, and it was awesome!!! The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and huge!
Disliked: We didnt go for a swim, we had no time.

I am looking forward to...
Liked: The overall experience was tremendous. Breakfast was above my expectations. The staff were all extremely pleasant, helpful and looked after anything I asked for. Very accommodating experience. I wish to express my sincerest gratitude to them all for playing a part in my much needed get away. Thank You Holiday Inn Oshawa.
Disliked: The fact that I had to leave would be the only thing I can think of that I did not like.

Disappointing all around
Liked: The assistance from Booking.com was excellent!
Disliked: We arrived in a snow/rain storm. Although the address says Simcoe the entrance is in the rear of the building, off the parking lot. Not knowing that we tried to enter from the Simcoe street entrance. There was a very high snow pile at the curb and the side walk was covered in ice. We were able to get in the first set of double doors but the second required a room key. Having yet to check in we did not have a key. The staff were at the front desk and offered no assistance. To the back we went. We reserved 2 king suites for 2 nights. When we arrived we were put into 2 king rooms. When I inquired at the front desk they told me they don't even have rooms like the one I showed them on my reservation. The other person with us left after the first night. I contacted Booking.com and they contacted the hotel. In the end we were not charge for the vacant room and the manager took $60.00 and the $8.00/day parking fee from our bill. My husband went to a store nearby and was surprised when the store clerk advised him not to walk around that neighbourhood at night. The beds were very firm, so firm they were hard. I understand that is a plus for some but not for me. The breakfast was terrible. But the coffee was good. If you do stay there try The Rainbow restaurant across Simcoe. Great old "downtown restaurant" for breakfast or lunch. The food was great and in large portions.
